Catalog Data File Requirements
IMPORTANT: Failure to follow these requirements may prevent your products from being
entered into the Master Product Catalog.
BACKGROUND: Since 2000, America’s best retailers have harnessed the Omnichannel sales
power of SmartEtailing's online Master Product Catalog to display every top brand and
supplier’s products in their websites. It’s the best, most affordable way for you to massively
increase product exposure across all sales channels. This is why, every year, it's vital to send
your up-to-date product information as soon as possible (even before these items are available
to your retailers). Read on to find out how.
FORMAT REQUIREMENTS: You must provide your product information in our Catalog Data File
Excel spreadsheet format (you’ve probably done it this way for other major online merchants).
We can then turn your raw data into richly presented catalog products driving more sales for
your retailers and you.
MANDATORY FIELDS ON THE SPREADSHEET: For full Omnichannel functionality, you must
provide the correct UPCs or EANs (also referred to as GTINs) on every product. We also require
complete data in the Model Name, Prices, Shipping and Images* columns. Without all this, we
can't enter your products.
*Images notes: Minimum resolution must be at least 2000 pixels in JPG or PNG form. Include
links to images on your website on the spreadsheet. Or, upload your images to Dropbox,
Google Drive, etc. Name all cloud-based images with corresponding part numbers and let us
know the login.
Also be sure to enter Descriptions (in third-person if written). And, to ensure proper
categorization, include custom variations (a fork example: wheel size, steerer diameter, and
axle type). Note, it's crucial that you don’t mistakenly unite all variations in the Model Name or
Model Number cells. Also enter links to consumer-focused product-specific Videos if available
(YouTube, Vimeo).

FILE NAMING: Your Excel file can be any name. (first worksheet in file must be labeled “Sheet 1”)
