“I would like to thank and express my pleasure that I had an opportunity to participate in lectures organized by PSOTC. My first experience was the participation in lectures CIMIC modules; also it was my first basic and comprehensive knowledge of this area, which is in the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina still developing. Teachers were great, very professional and generally, they pass experiences presented to us through interactive and high‐quality lectures. It was a pleasure to attend the lectures and participate in one very interesting final exercise ‐ which was for me a very useful experience. I would like to thank and congratulate to Lt. Col. Dominique Cacciaguerra, and to COL. Ian Smith, to whom I own special gratitude for invitation, after the exercise and briefing organized by S5 in Tactical Support Brigade, to take part in this module as a student for the successful module . My second opportunity to participate in the lectures was PSOTC module Media and operational information. From the perspective of AF B&H representative and as a public information officer, with long experience of cooperation with the media, I must point out my satisfaction for the organization and the way of presenting the issues, especially with content‐exhibited lessons and practical exercises that gave me the possibility to compare this knowledge along with my previous experiences. Lectures were very professional, interactive and content, and methodologically very well processed and presented. With this module, I have refreshed some of my previous knowledge, some of them confirmed and some new acquired. In any case, I improved my previous knowledge and clarify some dilemmas that I had when it comes to practical work of PIO in peacekeeping missions. Therefore, I would especially earmarked lecture of Macedonian journalist A1TV Irina Gelevska, which a great documentary film, about the participation of Macedonian soldiers in the peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan; We had a chance to see and the lecture of very impulsive Simon Wren. He, on his dynamic and interactive way, succeeded to transfer part of his experience to us and to make his lectures one of the best lectures that I ever heard. Definitely, in these lectures I would like to participate again. With your permission, I would like to use this opportunity to express my opinion. All members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina should take this, for example, basic training of Media and Operational Information Module, regardless of whether they will or will not go to the peace‐
operation missions, the module will definitely open up some new opportunities and help to complete their theoretical knowledge with practical experiences and activities in practical situations. PSOTC provides excellent possibilities, what is confirmed by this module, which can be used when we are talking about communicating between media and military. It is necessary to build a proper approach and way of communication that has a goal to inform, explain and improve the job of the military and the media (and their two‐way communication). Especially important is the openness and communication of the military towards the media, because the armed forces and media are integral part of constructive democratic processes in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Relations with the media can’t be barrier between the public and the armed forces, they are the bridge through which news and information, travel freely ‐ and you have great opportunities to make it better qualitatively and quantitatively. Military personal required specific skills in communication with the media; Journalists needs military‐technical and special education, that they have opportunity to take (and pass) in this center.
