Dato' Dr Thed Cor Yong, Managing Director of CMG Group of Companies.
Thed is the founder and Group Managing Director of CMG Group of Companies. He is born in Batu Pahat, a small town that procedures numerous success entrepreneur in
Johor Darul Takzim. He completed his first degree in Computer Science with KTAR
College, and subsequently earned a Master Degree in Software Engineering with
Distinction from University of Stirling, UK. After 16 years of involvement in IT industry, he never forgot his self-development program and completed his PhD in
Information Technology through a distance learning program with Trinity University and College.
Thed founded CMG Holdings Sdn Bhd as a local IT company providing IT consultancy and software development services in 1998. In 2001, he formed CMG
Online Sdn Bhd, an MSC status company. With his strong vision and commitment throughout achieving the business goals while keeping taught in providing company’s best business value to customers, he continued to fine tune the IT services process and emphasize strongly on quality management. The company has earned the
PIKOM/Computimes ICT Company of the year award in 2003, accredited ISO9001 in
2007 and obtained CMMi LII in 2008. Today, CMG Group with more than 140 staff force is covering business locally and overseas with annual turnover exceeding
USD10m. With his contribution to the IT industry, Thed was granted PIKOM Key
Industry Leader Recognition Award last year.
