Section Number: M/F: 0223887, Jones 102 Credit hours: 3.0 Course description: Provides instruction in architectural CAD drawing creation and editing, program customization, CAD standards, file manipulation/translation, and library creation/usage. Discusses basic computer hardware, software and operating systems. Prerequisites: Microcomputer Applications or Intro to Computers, Architectural Sketching and Architectural Plans & Specs or instructor approval. Course Materials Needed: AutoCAD 206 Instructor by James Leach USB Flash Drive Pencil/pen and notebook for notes and organizing handout materials. Learning Outcomes, Objectives, and Course Competencies: - Solve building design issues. - Solve functional issues - Solve structural issues - Solve construction issues - Apply knowledge of construction practices and governing codes to prepare construction documents. - Prepare architectural drawings - Prepare site drawings - Prepare structural drawings - Interpret construction documents - Interpret for re-creating drawing in CAD Assessment of Student Learning: The student will receive a Course Schedule that lists topics covered in this course. To fulfill requirements for the course, the student must complete coursework and submit it for evaluation to the instructor. How final grades are determined: The instructor will grade assignments based on the appropriateness of their presentation. The student should focus on executing each assignment to the best of his/her abilities and not on speedy completion of assignments. The instructor will not accept work that does not meet minimum expectations and will receive a grade of 0.
