These simulations will follow up the previus simulations held during week 50 last year and week 16 this year, participants from those occasions are more than welcome to participate once more. MONALISA 2.0 is Motorways of the Sea project which aims at giving a concrete contribution to a continuous improvement and development of efficient, safe and environmentally friendly maritime transport in the European Union (EU) by implementing concrete pilot actions and studies that will foster deployment of new maritime services and processes. Several simulator centers around Europe have been and are interconnected in what is called an European Maritime Simulator Network (EMSN) which gives an unique possibility in creating scenarios with a large number of participating own ships. The simulator runs will be part of the Formal Safety Assessment (FSA) where the risks associated with implementing the MONALISA concept are identified, analyzed and evaluated in comparative studies from both a “metric perspective” i.e. reduction of probability of close quarter situations, and from a Human Factors perspective i.e. the usability of the system from the operators point of view. The simulator exercise will take place in the Kattegat in an area between North of Anholt to north of the Great Belt Bridge as indicated next. Area of simulations The planned pilot simulation runs will include MONALISA services such as route exchange and ETA window to enable the analysis of the concept and to verify that the technology is working. For the Pilot run only a limited amount of bridges will be participating, i.e. only the bridges at Chalmers and SMA, in total 5 bridges. Who are we looking for? - Test persons The simulator bridges are to be manned by two deck officers forming a navigator/co-navigator team. One of the officers is required to have experience in a senior position on board and preferably have a Master Mariner CoC. The other officer may be a junior officer with a 3rd Mate’s license or a senior student of the Master Mariner program. Language prerequisite is English. The simulations consists of 2 days, your participation is needed only on one of the days, so please state which day you will participate and if you have the possibility please state if you can participate other days if the choosen day is filled.
