Shallow floating floor Overlay system for impact sound insulation of concrete substrates in new buildings
or refurbishment/material change of use projects where a level floor is present.
Comprises: Tongue and groove chipboard. Thin Recycled rubber resilient layer.

For loose laying over level substrates, prior to installation of final floor covering.
•
Low system thickness. Suitable where headroom is limited.
•
Water resistant. Suitable for use in kitchens and bathrooms.
•
Can be laid to new or existing skirtings.

Applicable where floor to ceiling height restrictions apply.
Substrates:
•
Requires substrate level to ≤ 3 mm over 3 m. Tolerances outside this limit require InstaCoustic C40
cradle & batten system laid with battens.
•
Precast floors to be fully grouted.
•
Screeds to be fully cured before installation.
•
Seal all perimeters and sub-floor
floor joints.
Installation:
•
Thin Recycled rubber resilient layer to be laid throughout, grey face upwards with no gap at
perimeter between skirting or wall, covering the entire structural floor area.
•
Overlay boards to be laid in staggered formation, at 90º to rubber resilient layer. Unit edges to be
glued using InstaCoustic Adhesive, liberally applied.
•
Glue all board joints with InstaCoustic Adhesive Plus as laying proceeds.
•
Ensure all board joints are a minimum of 150 mm apart.
•
As laying proceeds avoid walking on the overlay boards whenever possible.
•
To avoid creeping keep overlay panels tightly in position whilst Adhesive Plus sets firmly.
•
Overlay boards to be laid with 8 mm perimeter gap to wall or skirting board. Fill with continuous,
full-depth
depth InstaCoustic acoustic sealant or Resilient Flanking Strip. Cover with new skirting.
•
Avoid flanking transmission paths, including at perimeter walls, penetrating pipes and ducts and
joints between precast units. Consult manufacturer.
•
Supply and fix Installation service available from manufacturer.

Finishes:
Suitable to receive applied finishes including carpet, linoleum, rubber and ceramic or stone tiles with
approved adhesive (consult manufacturer). Vinyl coverings may not conceal board joints and may
require supplementary overlay of hardboard
