GENERAL CHARACTER AND USE:

Models 3RX9304, 3RX9305 and 3RX9306 are enclosed switching mode power supplies. They are configured to be connected to a mains supply of 120 V ac

(models with extension 0AA01) or 230 V ac (models with extension 0AA00). The

3 models have an identical primary circuit. They differ only in their secondary circuits.

Models 3RX9307 and 4FD5183 are enclosed switching mode power supplies.

They are configured to be connected to a mains supply of 120 V ac or 230 V and have identical primary circuits. They differ only in their secondary circuits.

All units are provided with input and output terminals for connection to the end-use equipment. The power supplies have been investigated to UL 1012,

Standard for Power Supplies, Fourth Edition.

*CNR - The basic standard used to investigate products in this category is

CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 107.1

ENGINEERING CONSIDERATIONS (NOT FOR UL REPRESENTATIVE USE):

For use only in or with equipment where the acceptability of the combination is determined by Underwriters Laboratories Inc.

Conditions of Acceptability - When installed in the end-use equipment, the following are among the considerations to be made:

1. The power supply shall be installed in compliance with the marking, enclosure, mounting, spacing, casualty and segregation requirements of the ultimate application.

2. Consideration should be given to measuring the temperatures on power electronic components and transformer/choke windings when the power supply is installed in the end-use equipment. The transformers/chokes comply with Class 105

°

C limits.

3. This power supply has been judged on the basis of the required spacings in the Fourth Edition of the Standard for Power Supplies.

4. The input/output connectors are not acceptable for field connections and are only intended for connection to mating connectors of internal wiring inside the end-use machine. The acceptability of these and the mating connectors relative to secureness, insulating materials and temperature shall be considered.

5. Although a Recognized or Listed 6.3 A time delay fuse is provided with the Model 3RX930X-0AA01 constructions, all Normal and Abnormal Tests were conducted using a VDE 4 A time delay fuse and a min 230 V, 1 phase, 50 Hz supply source, with the primary voltage configuration set for 230 V. In view of the greater power rating permitted by this configuration, it was considered representative of the 120 V configuration (with the 6.3 AT fuse). However, in the end use, the 120 V configuration should be considered with respect to its use.

6. The model 3RX930X-0AA00 constructions are provided with a Listed or Recognized (JDYX2) 4 A time delay fuse.

7. The model 3RX9307-0AA00, 4FD5183-0AA20-1A, 4FD5183-0AA30-1A,

4FD5183-0AA10-1A, 4FD5183-0AA00-1A constructions are provided with a Listed or

Recognized 2 A time delay fuse. Adjacent to the fuse: Warning label

(Triangle with exclamation mark). Meaning is to have a mandatory look into the operating instructions which shall contain the following legends:

Warning: “For continued protection against fire hazard replace fuses with the same type and rating only”.

WARNING: “Electrical hazard when equipment is energized. This unit may not be reliably grounded.
