Japan Electric Power Information Center, Inc. (JEPIC) Overview: JEPIC was established in Tokyo, Japan in 1958 as a non‐profit association of the electricity utility industry in Japan in order to meet the increasing needs for systematic and sustained exchange of information with the electric utility industries in the world. Soon after its establishment, JEPIC also initiated technical cooperation programs in developing countries in the field of electric power as one of its main activities in response to Japanese government policies. To expand and strengthen communication and exchange activities with electric utility industries abroad, JEPIC set up Washington Office in Washington, D.C., U.S. in 1974, European Office in Paris, France in 1979 and Beijing Cooperative Office in Beijing, China in 2002. In April 1989, the International Cooperation Center (JEPIC‐ICC) was established within JEPIC in order to reinforce its international cooperative activities in developing countries.
