dodge ball
Dodge ball is a game for everyone as it requires very little previous gaming
experience. Teamwork and strategy are more valuable factors in dodge ball
than athletic skills and individual competiveness. We use vinyl coated foam
balls. These balls are heavy enough to travel the distance of the court, and
light enough that they do not hurt or mark. Come join in on the fun this is one
of our most popular recreation programs! Early registration is recommended
as age groups fill up quickly!

introduction to fly fishing
Pre-ki-mudo
This is a great beginner’s course for anyone interested in fly fishing. You’ll learn
about terminology, equipment for different species and situations, flies and how
to fish them, plus different fishing techniques and casts. You will get to compare
equipment across different levels of quality and price range. Everyone will practice the basic forward cast. Students not wishing to actually catch fish during the
practice session may want to practice one of the more advanced casts the instructor will demonstrate. Students wishing to catch fish will need a valid Illinois
fishing license. Although all equipment will be provided, if you have your own
fly rod setup, please bring it to class. You may want to use it during the practice
session, and the instructor can give you feedback and pointers on its characteristics and use. Participants will be able to:
 Define the major fly fishing terms.
 Identify the different kinds of flies and state how to fish them.
 Identify all equipment components and rod, reel, and line characteristics.
 Choose appropriate balanced equipment for given fish
species and fly fishing situations.
 Describe the different fly fishing techniques.
 Identify the different kinds of casts and perform the basic
forward casts.

awareness is also worked into our program each day. This class is sure to provide fun and excitement for your 3-5 year old.
Advanced fly fishing
This is a great course for individuals who have mastered the basic forward cast
to the extent of being able to consistently cast at least 30 feet. This class will
cover the balanced equipment selection in much more greater detail then the introductory class. You will get one-on-one instruction on much more difficult,
advanced casting. Although all equipment will be provided, if you have your
own fly rod setup , please bring it. Students wishing to catch fish will need a
valid Illinois license.
Given a mix of various rods, reels, and basic fly lines, create balanced systems
for different fly fishing situations.
 Choose specialized fly lines with the appropriate line tapers and other characteristics for different fly fishing situations.
 Perform the following casts: pile, roll cast, right and left curve casts, steeple
cast, and the double haul. Describe Spey casting.
