Rotate key counter clockwise (momentary position) and bring key to center
position RED LED illuminates.
After 10 seconds (Time delay, factory preset) GREEN LED illuminates.
Unit is now armed in a “Delayed Egress Mode”. When rail is depressed,
GREEN LED illuminates, RED LED flashes and horn sounds. After 15 seconds,
RED LED illuminates solid. See F - Violation.

Rotate key counter clockwise (full rotation on 4375LH) and return key to
center position.
RED LED illuminates on keyswitch for ten seconds, magnet de-energizes for
momentary authorized egress.
After 10 seconds, (time delay expires) the magnet re-energizes and GREEN LED
illuminates.
Unit is then rearmed in “Delayed Egress Mode”.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Rotate key counter clockwise, in 4375LH keyswitch. RED LED illuminates.
After 10 seconds (time delay expires), the RED LED will shut off and
GREEN LED will illuminate.
Magnet energizes.
Unit is in “Delayed Egress Mode” (armed position).
For installation assistance, contact SARGENT at 800-810-WIRE (9473)

F. Violation occurs while in “Delayed Egress Mode” and
resetting the unit back in”Delayed Egress Mode”
1.
2.
Unit is in “Delayed Egress Mode” (Armed position).
Depressing the push bar for more than 2 seconds, starts an irreversible
alarm sequence.
3.
4.
RED LED flashes on the key switch and GREEN LED illuminates solid.
During this process, the magnet remains energized and the alarm on
the key switch sounds.
5.
After 15 seconds (factory preset delay) the RED LED illuminates solid.
GREEN does not illuminate.
Magnet de-energizes, allowing egress.
Alarm continues to sound until unit is reset by a key at the door.

After 10 seconds (time delay expires) RED LED shuts off and GREEN
LED illuminates.
Unit is in “Delayed Egress Mode” (armed position).
G. Unit tied to a fire alarm:
1.
2.
3.
In case of a fire/emergency, the magnet will de-energize instantaneously
(voiding the 15 second delay) allowing immediate egress.
RED LED illuminates.
Resetting the fire alarm automatically sets the unit in a “Delayed Egress

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS CONTINUED
H.
“Door propped” alarm (Requires door status switch-3287):
An alarm condition to signal the console and remote location that a door has been
held open beyond a factory adjustable time period (0-60 adjustable seconds). Units
are preset at the factory for approximately 15 seconds. When a momentary legal
release is used, the door is opened, the timer will monitor the “door open” state. If
the door remains open beyond the time set:
a. The local console alarm and remote alarm will sound
b. The station RED LED will remain lit
c. The alarm circuitry will not be latched
When the door is closed, the alarms will silence. The RED LED will extinguish, and the
GREEN LED will illuminate. If the legal release is used during the alarm state, the
alarm will silence, the timer will be reset, and the circuitry will resume with the
functions of a normal legal release. If Door Status Switch is not used, a jumper from
IN6 to COM, must be added.
OPTIONAL REMOTE RELEASE
•
Used to disable system from the exterior of the opening or from
security area
•
Momentary switch 4371LT, located at Terminals IN1 and COM

FIRE ALARM APPLICATIONS
1. Fire Alarm with (Normally Open) Momentary Reset Switch (as shown on page 6)
Fire alarm contact opens on alarm (Maintained Egress Mode). After alarm condition
ceases and Fire Alarm Contact is reset to closed position a momentary switch closure
at IN7 to COM is required to reset system back to Delayed Egress mode.
2. Fire Alarm without Momentary Reset Switch
Jumper wire must be connected from IN7 to COM. Fire alarm contact opens on alarm
(Maintained Egress Mode). After alarm condition ceases and Fire Alarm Contact is
reset to closed position the system resets back to Delayed Egress mode automatically.
3. Fire Alarm NOT used
Jumper wire must be connected from IN5 to COM and IN7 to COM.

TROUBLE SHOOTING
1. Unit does not arm
• Check all wire connections
• Check position of keyswitch. If GREEN LED is illuminated, magnet
should be energized
2. Magnet does not release
• Check all wire connections
• Fire alarm must be jumped if not using (IN5 and COM)
• Disconnect two magnet leads. With OHM meter, measure
contacts K2NO and K2 C for continuity
