STUDY UNIT
Complete experimental set up to Study of Gas actuated
Buchholz relay and checking it setting experimental with
metering and control panel on 4’ x 2’ M.S. cubicle with all
terminals brought out for making connection and taking
readings. Built in Vacuum Pump to create vacuum & fault
creation and its simulation and its simulation by students,
Digital/Analogue metering etc will be provided in the
panel with experimental details.
Setup should be based on 3HP, 3Ph.ac induction motor,
1440rpm, 415 V ac three phase. Star connected. With

Specifications
Shell is 75 cm long 22 cm dia. two large tubes pass from end to end.
At the front of each tube a furnace fire grating is placed & a door is
high. Brick work as seating &fules are shown in wood work. The
boiler is complete with dead weight safety valve, manhole,
mudhole, check valve, high steam & low water gauges, regulating
draught doors, with counter weights & chimney. The model is
approx. one meter in length 37 cm in breadth & 45 cm high. It is
specially made dissectible for demonstration
This is the best known vertical type fire tube boiler. The shell is 25
cm. in dia. & 60 cm high. The cylindrical fire box is with a door &
gate at it’s bottom. Hot gasses pass from the fuel with the
combustion chamber through the tubes. At both ends of the tubes
covers are given & tubes can be cleaned after their removal. The
model is complete with feed check valve, steam & water gauges,
stop valve, safety valve & manhole
The model is especially designed to under stand the working of a
locomotive steam boiler. The steel shell is of 20 cm dia. & 60 cm in
length. The fire box is provided with a door & gate. The dissected
barrel shows its inside view. Hot gasses after passing through the fire
tubes enter the smoke box with a door, nozzle & the blast pipe. The
model is approx. 100 cm. in length,45 cm high & 35 cm in breadth & is
complete with whistle steam bome, safety valve, check valve, steam
regulator, water & steam gauges
It is a water tube boiler. The shell is 15 cm. in dia.& 75 cm. in length
& is fitted with a super heated& with inclined water tubes over the
furnace connected with headers. The model is fitted with stop valve.

Static & dynamic balancing apparatus
Thisapparatus consists of a perfectly balanced
steel shaft mounted in ball bearings in a rigid
rectangular frame. A set of four balancing blocks
of different weights are provided & a appositive
split clamp arrangement allows then to be easily
fixed in any position along the shaft. Each block is
specially designed so that its turning moments
about one of the shaft.
