SS14-0723 DREW MARINE INVERTER ARC WELDING MACHINES The AMERARC I-400 MST arc welding machine is an inverter type arc welder with 400 amps output for use with constant current (CC) and constant voltage (CV) welding operations. The MST model is ideal for welding with all the major shipboard welding processes: • Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW-Stick) with all types and sizes of electrodes • Carbon Arc Gouging (CAC-A) with gouging rods up to 9 mm (3/8") • Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW-TIG), with lift or scratch starting with current as low as 5 amps And with a wirefeeder... • Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW-MIG) using the short spray technique with 0.9 mm (0.035”) solid wire or the spray arc technique with 1.3 mm (0.052”) wire Specifications Rated Output Amps 400A Volts 44V Duty Cycle 25% @ 400A 60% @ 300A Output Range Amps 5 – 400A Volts 10 – 36V Maximum OCV 80 OCV Input Hz 50/60 Hz • Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) with cored wires up to 2.4 mm (3/32") Welding with any process is easy. The operator simply selects a process, sets his current or voltage, and starts his job. Programmable controls allow for maximum flexibility, offering either machine or remote control of electric power and contactor. The MST allows adjustments for hot starting, hot current and arc control in the SMAW mode, inductance and material selection for GMAW, and pulse and slope controls for GTAW. Five welding programs can be saved for standard applications. Dimensions Width Length Height Weight The AMERARC I-400 MST weighs only 29 kg so it is not difficult to take the machine to the work area, avoiding long cable lengths and both the associated voltage drops and safety concerns due to cables strewn about the ship. 8.25 in/220 mm 16.5 in/420 mm 16.9 in/430 mm 64.2 lb/29.2 kg Load Characteristics Input400A300ANO 50/60 Hz36V32VLoad 230V 3 phase 55A 37A 1.3A 460V 3 phase 27A 18A 0.6A KW 16.9 KW 11.3 KW 0.3 KW KVA 21.9 KVA 14.6 KVA 0.5 KVA Description PCN 1-973-526-5700 info@drew-marine.com www.drew-marine.com The I-400 MST is equipped with a 14 pin receptacle for powering & operating a 24 or 110 volt AC wire feeder for GMAW and FCAW. Accessories How to Order: I-400 MST CC/CV 400 Amp Inverter Arc Welding Machine 208/230/460 Volt, 1/3 ph, 50/60 Hz The MST accepts any power configuration: 208/330/460 volts, 1/3 phase, 50/60 Hz. The proper input voltage can be selected by simply adjusting a switch; no tools are required. If the machine is accidentally connected to improper voltage, SMART LOGIC 1 technology prevents the machine from damage. 0600123 Drew Marine offers several accessory items with the AMERARC I-400 MST. For GMAW/FCAW, the F4 wire feeder and Number 4 MIG torch, with associated spare parts as outlined in this section. A hand held Spool Gun and Controller, especially well suited for aluminum GMAW is also available. Contact your nearest Drew Marine representative by going to our website for a list of global offices.
