Studies on Thermal Balance
Present to customers by TGM, there is a complete mass and energy balance analysis. The thermal balance study is a complete inspection of the thermodynamic efficiency and its energy consumption aiming to maximize the surplus availability for trading. It’s a thorough study about the current plant, with tests to reach the best implementation choices, seeking for future expansions, increasing the efficiency, the safety and the availability with a lower investment.
Application
This engineering integrates several devices into a single customized solution, meeting the most demanding requirements of all industrial processes that require mechanical drives and electric power generators.
Regenerative Cycle on
Thermal Plants
Since it consists on using the surplus steam generated with the same fuel, in order to heat the condensate, feeding back the boiler. This cycle is based on the use of the steam during various stages of the steam turbine, in order to increase the condensate temperature, which raises the cycle efficiency. The regeneration cycle can be applied on both new and existing plants.
Systems and Automation
TGM provides automation and processes control solutions for power generation and cogeneration. These technologies are implemented by specialists, seeking reduction of maintenance cost and a greater equipment efficiency. TGM is always prioritizing the plant, the machinery and the system equipment’ safety.
With flexibility to meet each customer needs, the projects are customized and deployed with all the necessary documents for full integration due to facilitate global commissioning works and reducing the project implementation duration.

TGM conducted several retrofit services on many turbines from different manufactures.
Modernization, recovery and revitalization of the equipment is performed with the replacement of parts and sets of assemblies
(kits). See below two cases of the application of TGM technology.
In 2009, TGM has applied its overhauling technology in a turbine from another manufacturer. There was a real increase of
7.5% equipment efficiency on the power of the Turbo Generator, approximately 1,500 kW and a reduction of steam consumption of
0.73 kg / kW-h.
The service carried out by TGM included:
• Modernization of aerothermodynamics channel
• Manufacture and replacement of the rotary and stationary assemblies
• Control System Modernization for reliability and operational safety
• Assembly, supervision of installation, commissioning and startup
• Performance test on the turbine and approved by the effectiveness of the services provided
Another machine model received the services of TGM. The turbine was dismantled and transported from the customer to TGM factory for:
• Overhaul of turbine
• Overhaul of the rotating assembly with replacement of blades
• Rotor balancing
• Substitution steam seal system
• Replacement of blade carrier seal system
• Measurement of clearances and final assembly in TGM
• Turbine assembly on the client
