They require one pair of worksurface support brackets. The worksurface must be fully supported face down on a smooth surface. To prevent damage power tools should not be used. Place the worksurface brackets in their proper locations as shown above. Install the four 1/4”-20 x 1” machine screws provided and tighten once all are in place. 3 Rear Corner Support Leg The rear corner support leg is used with square back corner tops that are not supported by a rear column assembly. The worksurface is mounted between two 90o adjacent modules. It requires one pair of worksurface support brackets. The worksurface must be fully supported face down on a smooth surface. To prevent damage power tools should not be used. Place the worksurface brackets in their proper locations. Install the four 1/4”-20 x 1” machine screws provided and tighten once all are in place. With the worksurface mounted adjust the height of the leg relative to the worksurface by unfastening the screw at the bottom of the leg assembly and sliding the inner tube up or down as required. Line up the threaded insert and fasten. Fine adjustments can be done with the leveling glide. Now slide the rear leg to the back corner of the worksurface approximately 2” from either side and fasten to the worksurface using the wood screws provided. 4 Parts Bin Rail Accessories Parts Bin Rail Modesty Panel Micro Slot Accessories “Micro Slot” refers to the rectangular slots punched at 1” increments along the height of the column. There are several accessories which mount in the micro slots such as modesty panels, parts bin rails, accessory cabinets, tool boxes, utility bins and sloping document shelves to name a few. To mount these accessories you insert the micro slot bracket into the slots of the columns and push down to ensure the bracket hooks are engaged. Parts Bin Rail Accessories, Tool Holder, Bottle Holder, Wipes Holder, and Solder Spool Holder. These hang anywhere along the length of the parts bin rail or utility bin. 5 Heavy Duty Parts Bin Rail Installation at 90o 1) Insert the top hooks into the inner micro slots of the columns. 2) Rotate the parts bin rail down until you engage the bottom hooks. 3) Press down firmly to fully engage the hooks. Installation at 15o 1) Push up on the rail to disengage the hooks and pull the top of the rail forward until the up hook catches in the column and you can not pull any farther forward. 2) Press down on the rail to fully engage the hooks. 6 Air Beam Air beams are provided with two or three receptacles (depending on the overall length of the beam) for 1/4” NPT quick connects. Any receptacles not used with quick connects must be plugged. Each end of the air beam is equipped with a quick connect fitting for 1/4” tube. This allows air beams to be connected in line. You can remove the red blanking plug as shown above, by pushing the collar in while at the same time pulling the plug out. Either tubing or blanking plug must be in place to prevent pressure loss. 18” of 1/4” tube supplied. To mount the Air Beam you insert the micro slot bracket into the slots of the columns and push down to ensure the bracket hooks are engaged. 7 Data Beam Data beams are provided with four duplex style outlets. The eight ports accept modular snap in/snap out jacks or connectors for data, video or audio connectivity. The beams are supplied with the outlets, but the jacks/connectors must be purchased separately. On site wiring of ports in the responsibility of the customer. To mount the Data Beam you insert the micro slot bracket into the slots of the columns and push down to ensure the bracket hooks are engaged. 8 Variable Angle Shelf These shelves can mount in three different orientations relative to the columns. 1) Front Mount. To mount the shelf in front of the columns you must mount the brackets to the shelf in their rear most position. 2) Center Mount. To Mount the shelf in the center of the columns you must mount the brackets in their central position. 3) Rear Mount. To mount the shelf in its rear most position you must mount the brackets in their front most position. To mount the brackets use the 5/16”-18 x 5/8” button head cap screws, flat washers and lock nuts provided. The adjustable levers provided are used to adjust the angle of the shelf. They are also installed with washers and lock nuts. The Variable Angle Shelves without Lips have mounting positions for the wire divider as shown above. The dividers are installed by pushing them into both sets of mounting holes at the desired location. 9 Freestanding Footrest 1) See Variable Angle Shelf Assembly for footrest platform assembly, page 9. 2) Insert the two plastic plugs into the top of the frame posts. 3) Insert left and right feet into the bottom of the frame assembly. Install the clevis pins and retainers provided. 4) Mount the Variable Angle Shelf Assembly to the Frame Assembly at the desired height and angle. 5) Press down to engage slots. 10 Vertical Power Beam 1) Mount the top front and top rear bracket into the micro slots at the desired height. Press down on the brackets to ensure they engage the slots. 2) Loosely bolt the powerbeam through the top hole of the brackets using the 5/16”-18 x 5/8” button head cap screw and hex nut provided. 3) Mount the bottom front bracket and the bottom rear bracket into the micro slots at the appropriate height. Push up on the brackets to engage the slots. 4) Bolt through the bottom hole of the brackets using the 5/16”-18 x 5/8” button head cap screw and hex nut provided. 5) Ensure all hardware is secured. 11 Light Fixture: 4 Bulb 1) Using the four #10-24 x 3/4” machine screws provided mount the retro fit brackets to the light fixture. 2) These brackets can be mounted either in the front or rear most position of the light fixture and the slot which allows the light to be tilted can be mounted towards either the front or the back of the light. 3) Now mount the sub assembly to the light brackets. These brackets will have an overall dimension of either 15 5/8”, 20 5/8” or 26 5/8” depending on what you purchased. 4) Using the four 1/4”-20 x 3/4” machine screws, washers and lock nuts provided mount the sub assembly as shown above. 5) Ensure all hardware is secure and mount the assembly to your workstation using the macro slots of the columns. 12 Tool Trolley Track The tool trolley track mounts to light brackets, with or without a light. It can be mounted in front of or behind a light. Slide tool trolley inside the track. Position the tool trolley track in the desired location of the light mounting brackets and install the screws and square nuts at the each end of the track. With the assembly secured install the end caps. 13 Pegboard and Louvered Panel 1) Fasten the four support brackets to the corners of the panel using the four 5/16”-18 x 5/8 cap screws and hex nuts provided. Do not tighten the screws. 2) Insert tabs of the stiffener into the rear slots of the panel. Press down to secure in place. 3) Insert hooks of the support brackets into the inner micro slots of the column at the desired height. 4) Secure all hardware. 14 Marker/Tack Panel 1) 2) 3) 4) Mount the bottom two support brackets into the inner micro slots of the columns. Center the panel between these two bracket and mark the mounting locations. Using the self drilling screws provided mount the brackets to the panel. Repeat steps 1-3 for the top brackets. 15 CPU Holder 1) The CPU should be installed prior to mounting the worksurface to the columns 2) Loosely fasten the hangers to the CPU holder using the 1/4”-20 screws provided. 3) Slide the hangers into the worksurface support beams position in desired location and secure the hardware. 16 Pelican Drawer/Tote Box 1) Drawers should be installed prior to mounting the worksurface to the columns. 2) Loosely fasten the hangers to the Pelican Drawer using the 1/4”-20 screws provided. 3) Slide the hangers into the worksurface support beams position in desired location and secure the hardware. 17 Swivel Keyboard Holder 1) Slide the four hangers into the worksurface support beams with the inserts facing into the beam. 2) Loosely fasten the keyboard channel to the hangers with the 1/4”x1” screws provided. 3) Slide the channel into the desired location on the worksurface and secure the hardware. 4) Slide the keyboard arm into the channel. 5) Install the four #8x3/8” screws in the ends of the channel these act as stops. 6) Mount the keyboard platform to the keyboard arm with the supplied hardware. Operating Instructions 1) To adjust the tilt of the keyboard platform loosen the lever, set the desired angle and retighten the lever. 2) To raise the platform grasp the platform on both sides and lift to desired height. 3) To lower the platform grasp the platform on both sides, tilt the front of the platform up, lower to desired height and release platform. 4) The platform is fully retractable on the 23” channel 5) The keyboard arm can swivel 360o Note: The spring assisted height lock may not function correctly until the load of the keyboard platform, the keyboard and the mouse have been applied. 18 Series 7000 or Series 8000 Series 8000 or benches without front support beams Pullout Keyboard Holder 1) Mount the keyboard tray to the slides using the flat head screws and nuts provided with the tray. 2) There are two sets of hanging bracket provided. The longer set is for use with either Series 7000 or Series 8000 workstations. The shorter set is for use with Series 8000 or workstations have no front support beam. Mount the appropriate set of bracket to the slides using the Philips head screws provided. 3) Mount the assembly to the worksurface in the desired location using the #10 x 3/4” wood screws provided. 19 Universal Bracket 8423 Heavy Duty Universal Bracket 1) Position the bracket at the desired height on either the inside or outside of the column. 2) Mount the bracket using the three 1/4”-20 x 1 3/8” hex bolts, washers and lock nuts provided. 8406 Double Hook Micro Slot Bracket 1) At the desired height mount the double hooked bracket into the inner and outer micro slots. 20 Double Articulating Swing Arm 1) Using the 3/8”-16 x 2 1/2” long socket head shoulder bolt 2 1/2” flat washers and lock nut provided, secure the two halves of the swing arm as shown. 2) Install the 2” x 1” black rectangular end cap. 21 Monitor Shelf with Keyboard Holder & Mouse Tray 1) Mount the accessory pin and steel washer to the monitor shelf. 2) Mount the assembly and the plastic washer to the swing arm. 3) The swing arm then mounts to either the 8406 or 8423 universal brackets using the pin supplied. 4) Insert the ends of the mouse tray through both sets of holes in the monitor shelf. 5) Insert the two retainer pins. Please note: 8895 Mouse tray is ordered separately. 22 Accessory Shelf 1) Mount the accessory pin and steel washer to the accessory shelf. 2) Mount the assembly and the plastic washer to the swing arm. 3) The swing arm then mounts to either the 8406 or 8423 universal brackets using the pin provided. 23 Document Holder 1) Mount the accessory pin and steel washer to either the 11 7/8” or 23 5/8” document holders. 2) Mount the assembly and the plastic washer to the swing arm. 3) The swing arm then mounts to either the 8406 or 8423 universal brackets using the pin provided. 4) The angle of the document holders can be adjusted from 0o to 90o in 15o increments. 24 Parts Bin Rack for Swing Arm 1) Insert the four plastic caps into the parts bin rack tubes. 2) Mount the 1/2”-13 shoulder bolt, washers and lock nut through the swing arm mounting hole as shown. 3) The swing arm then mounts to either the 8406 or 8423 universal brackets using the pin supplied. 25 Mobile Cart Starter & Adder Note: Leave all fasteners loose until after stabilizer panel is installed. 1) Mount the starter and adder bases together using the four 5/16”-18 x 3” hex head screws, washers and lock nuts provided. 2) Place the “J” bolts into the columns. Then guide the “J” bolts through the holes in the base and install the 5/16” washers, and lock nuts. 3) Mount the outriggers to the columns using the clevis pins and retainers provided. 4) Secure the front of the outrigger to the base using a 1/4”-20 x 1” screw. 5) Mount the stabilizer panel between the columns using the six 1/4”-20 x 2” “T” bolts, washers and wing nuts. 26 Parts Bin Cart 1) Mount the stabilizer panel between the columns using the six 1/4”-20 x 2” “T” bolts, washers and wing nuts. 2) Mount the parts bin cart handle to either side of the cart using the two 1/4”-20 x 3/4” screws, washer and lock nuts provided. 3) Mount the casters to the feet using the 1/2”-13 hex nuts provided. 4) Insert the plastic plugs into the foot tubes. Double sided cart shown. Single sided cart is assembled in the same manner.
