PORT AUTHORITY OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO VACANCY : GENERAL MANAGER /CEO Job Summary As General Manager / Chief Executive Officer, you will report to the Board of Commissioners and will ensure that PATT's three (3) Strategic Business Units (SBU's) achieve the Authority's strategic objectives. Responsibilities: Provide overall leadership direction to the PATT’s management team, namely CEO’s of the SBU's of the Authority in the execution of PATT’s overall corporate strategy. Establish corporate strategies, goals, plans, objectives, and procedures subject to agreed imperatives and in accordance with governing policies approved by the Board of Commissioners. Formulate and implement the strategic plan of PATT and ensure business objectives maximize resources value Ensure the optimization of available human, physical, and financial resources in achieving strategic objectives. Monitor the performance of the companies and PATT’s governing unit against operational plans to ensure established targets are achieved. Review and evaluate operational performance in order to initiate corrective action for the achievement of defined performance targets. Consolidate the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets for the Public Sector Investment Programmes (PSIP). Co-ordinate the preparation of Management reports and review corporate performance reports for submission to the Board of Commissioners. Monitor the operations of the companies to effect an improved cost structure and optimal asset utilization. Implement a Human Resource strategy and organization structure to effect alignment of Human Resources to the business needs of the PATT. Implement an appropriate Treasury Management System and monitor same to ensure adequacy of financial and management cash resources and investments. Maintain strategic networking relationships with external stakeholders, Government representatives, shipping lines and agents, other business interest groups and regulatory bodies (Customs & Excise, Central Bank, Ministry of Finance and the Chief Personnel Officer). Implement appropriate Management Information Systems and I.T. Infrastructure to support business management reporting and decision making. Promote a culture of service excellence. Minimum Requirements Postgraduate Degree in Business Administration / Port Administration. First Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering / Business Management /Economics / Finance or an equivalent qualification in another relevant discipline. Ten (10) years experience in a senior management role Working knowledge of and experience in a marine / port transportation environment Considerable knowledge of the port industry- local, regional and international Experience in strategic planning and implementation and change management Strong analytic and project management skills. Excellent communication, networking and interpersonal skills.
