Montgomery College’s General Education Program is an essential component of all degree programs. It is designed to
introduce students to the knowledge, skills and values that are essential to the study of academic disciplines, to encourage
the pursuit of life-long learning and to foster the development of educated members of the community and the world.
Courses in the Program transfer to Maryland public colleges and universities under the guidelines of the Maryland
