INTRODUCTION
Paraflam® C/UF/SE Cavity Barrier comprises a one piece, close dimensioned product having a structural internal mineral fibre core. The product
has integrated aluminium foil facings to provide class ‘O’ raƟng and excellent resistance to smoke. A unique method of manufacture provides
a resilient lateral compression required to ensure a Ɵght fit. Designed to be used in Ceiling Cavity, Slab Edge or Under Floor installaƟons and
upgrades.
As standard, the materials can be supplied with either buƩ joints or an interlocking overlap joint to further enhance integrity of the installaƟon.
The product comes pre-cut to suit void sizes or in sheet form to be cut on site. The core is ECOSE® Technology a revoluƟonary, new, formaldehyde
free binder technology, based on rapidly renewable materials instead of petro-based chemicals. It reduces embodied energy and delivers superior

APPLICATION
The range of Paraflam® C/UF/SE Cavity Barrier systems has been developed to comply
with Building RegulaƟon changes. This requires that extensive caviƟes in ceiling/floor
voids should be sub-divided or compartmentalized with cavity barriers.
Ceiling Cavity Barriers
The horizontal seals, Ceiling Cavity Barriers should be installed to coincide with the
fire resisƟng parƟƟons above the ceiling / floor. Paraflam® CCB provides a resilient
seal between the ceiling and the underside of the floor. Paraflam® CCB is ideal for the
upgrade of wooden floors or heritage ceilings where convenƟonal materials can not
be accommodated or between wooden joists forming the ceiling cavity. PyrocousƟc
Intumescent sealant can be applied around any services passing through.
Under Floor Cavity Barriers
Voids are leŌ under the removable access floor in a building where a parƟƟon wall is
build above. These voids require to be closed to prevent the spread of fire. Paraflam®
UFCB will provide an easy to fit soluƟon being installed between the floor slab and the
underside of the access floor.
Slab Edge Barriers
The horizontal voids between the slab edge and the outer skin of the building whether
it be cladding panel, facade or masonry should be sealed to coincide with the fire
resisƟng requirements of the building element. Paraflam® SEB provides a resilient seal
between the slab edge and walling system.

INSTALLATION
• Paraflam® C/UF/SE Cavity Barrier single components are simply laid end to end in either horizontal or verƟcal orientaƟon, fricƟon fiƩed between
the substrate to form a conƟnuous barrier.
• Cut the Paraflam® unit over sized by 10mm to the width of the void.
• Push in the brackets at a distance of 600mm apart at mid thickness both sides of the unit.
• Evenly push the Paraflam® unit in to the void.
• Bracket should be penetrates into the Paraflam to at last mid depth & in the middle of the secƟon.
• The correct size units are placed in posiƟon end to end, ensuring joints are pushed Ɵghtly together.
• To assist installaƟon and maintain integrity of the smoke barrier joints can be taped with self adhesive foil.
• For a more complete installaƟon of the smoke barrier joints sealed with PyrocousƟc® Sealant if desired.
• Maintain record of installaƟon.

STORAGE AND DISPOSAL
Paraflam® C/UF/SE Cavity Barrier should ideally be stored between +5°C and +25°C indoors, above ground level in dry well venƟlated condiƟons.
