FAQ Sheet V4043 Zone Valve (S Plan) Operation Pipework Schematic Use V4043H zone valves if ‘Zoning’ a heating system with multiple heating and/or hot water circuits. Pump flow Mechanical Operation V4043B (Normally OPEN valve) V4043C/H (Normally CLOSED valve) 240V on brown wire will close valve No Auxiliary End Switch. No Manual Lever. With no power, valve will spring open. 240V on brown wire will open valve. When valve is fully open Aux. End Switch makes. With no power, valve will spring close. Replacement motor only = 40002737-003. Valve bodies are NOT interchangeable. Please Note: Manual Lever on the side of the normally closed valves will hold valve open, but it is not designed to switch the End Switch, neither is it a position indicator. Electrical Operation A 240V supply between the brown and blue wires will energise the motor and operate the valve. Removal of power will return the valve to its original position. If using the valve in an application where the auxiliary switch is not needed, isolate and make safe the orange, grey (& white) wires. The auxiliary switch is electrically isolated from the valve motor. When the V4043H zone valve is motored fully open, the orange wire contact makes to the grey wire contact. On the C & S Plan systems, this would provide power to the boiler & pump. The V4043H Zone Valve can be used to operate a Combination or System Boiler that requires volt-free switching, by connecting the orange and grey wires directly to the switching terminals on the boiler (See boiler instructions for specific wiring details). Auxiliary Switch Operation L BR G W** * = Auxiliary switch is not fitted to V4043B valves ** = White wire is only fitted to the 28mm and 1” BSP Zone Valves. It is also fitted to the zone valve replacement powerhead, part no: 40003916-001. O The white wire is only used on the ‘C Plan’ Gravity HW systems. If wiring to a fully pumped system, isolate & make safe the white wire.
