Internship in the Policy Department 6 months (full time), availability from September 2015 – February 2016 SolarPower Europe, the new EPIA (European Photovoltaic Industry Association), is a member-led association representing organisations active along the whole value chain. Our aim is to shape the regulatory environment and enhance business opportunities for solar power in Europe. With headquarters in Brussels, we are seeking a highly motivated person to support the activities of our Policy department. The Policy Department tasks are, inter alia, to develop thought leading intelligence on markets, industry and technologies with a view to successfully positioning solar-based energy solutions with policymakers at the European level and through national level influence so that an enabling environment is delivered for solar power growth in Europe. Main missions The intern will support the work of the Policy Department through the following tasks: Input to publications and policy papers Technical analysis of policy documents Support to the cooperation with stakeholders Weekly monitoring of the European agenda and trends in the energy sector: o European agenda: European Commission activities, relevant committees of the European Parliament, Council’s Working Groups, COREPER and Ministerial meetings and Think Tanks o Energy sector: Companies development, new capacities and technological developments Contribution to the content of SolarPower Europe communication tools Participation in relevant conferences and reporting 1/2 Organizational support to the Policy Department (e.g. organisation of internal working group and task force meetings) Profile Student status and internship taking place in the frame of the completion of the study programme Master’s degree in political science, economy or in a relevant engineering field Interest in and basic knowledge of the electricity sector and solar photovoltaics in particular Analytical and political mind, ability to extract and formulate clear messages Proven fluent English Good public relations skills, interest in networking Excellent command of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Ability to work independently as well as in team and under time pressure First experience in the Brussels political environment or in the energy sector is an advantage Important - Conditions As per Belgian legislation, a monthly reimbursement (750 EUR) for expenses on a standard basis is planned. A signed Convention de Stage (a tripartite agreement signed by SolarPower Europe, the intern and his/her university or college) is required. Prospective interns must fulfil this requirement to apply.
