Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT) is an Autonomous Institution affiliated to the
Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), with the concurrence of VTU / Govt. of Karnataka / UGC
and Accredited by AICTE, Govt. of India. NMIT is the youngest Engineering College to be conferred the
prestigious Autonomous status by VTU / State of Karnataka/UGC.
NMIT is the only unaided private engineering college in Karnataka state selected by Govt. of India for
world bank funding under TEQIP (Technical Education Quality Improvement Program)
NMIT is a unique Institution where UG Engineering students are actively participating in the execution
of research projects in the emerging areas such as Image Processing / Robotics / CFD etc. This has
resulted in research publications by these students in National/International Conferences/Journals.
NMIT is also an associated institution with EdCIL (India) Limited, under Ministry of Human Resource
and Development, Government of India.
NMIT offers wide range of academic programs comprising of Seven UG and Five PG programs in
Engineering besides MBA and MCA. Six Departments of NMIT are offering doctoral programs of VTU /
Mysore University.
The College has modern hostel facilities in the campus separately for boys and girls with in-house
mess facility providing hygienic and nutritious diet for both Indian and International Students.
Presently NMIT has given admission to large number to foreign nationals of various countries like,
Nepal, Bhutan, Srilanka, Nigeria, etc., under the superannuation quota of 15% reserved for
International students in all courses.

Eligibility
Under Graduate
B.E/B.Tech (All Discipline)
Students who have passed PUC/10+2 or equivalent examination, with Physics and Mathematics along
with Chemistry/ Bio Technology/ Biology as optional subjects, with English as one of the languages of
study and obtaining atleast 45% of marks in the optional subjects. Diploma candidates are also eligible for
admission to respective branches for second year B.E., under lateral entry scheme.
Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Admission to MBA course shall be open for the candidates who have passed the Bachelors degree with
not less than 50% of marks in the aggregate of all the years of the degree examinations.
Master of Computer Application (MCA)
Admission to MCA course shall be open for the candidates who have passed the Bachelors degree with
not less than 50% of marks in the aggregate of all the years of the degree examinations, with
Mathematics/Statistics/ Computer Science/ Computer Programming/ Computer Application/ Business
Mathematics/ Business Statistics as one of the optional or elective at degree level.
Master of Technology (M.Tech)
Admission to M.Tech course shall be open to candidates who have passed BE/B.Tech/AMIE (relevant
field) of VTU or any other University/Institution. The candidates need to have passed the prescribed
qualifying exams with not less than 50% marks in aggregate of all the semesters / years of the degree
examinations.
Ph.D
Any Master Degree in the respective discipline with 50% marks.
Admission Procedure:
Admissions are given on FIRST COME FIRST SERVE basis.
NO ENTRANCE EXAMINATION - NO DONATIONS.

Certificate Checklist:
Filled in applications along with 2 passport photographs, photocopies of SLC/O-level/10th mark sheet,
HSC/A-level/12th transcript, migration certificate, conduct/ character certificate, passport/ citizenship
certificate, Medical Fitness Certificate shall be submitted to the Admissions, Foreign Students Cell,
NMIT, Bangalore.
Admission letter enables the Indian Embassy to provide student visa from their countries, for visa
applicable countries.
Students are given full information and guidance/assistance (will be received from Airport) on how to
arrive campus.
After arrival, Foreign Students are given sufficient guidance in providing hostel accommodation, FRO’s
registration work, visa extension work, opening bank account etc.
