Commitment Class Associate Christ Presbyterian Church August 2016 Position Summary To support the Commitment Class (9th grade) with programs at CPC. Position Reporting This is a part-time, non-exempt position, approximately 10 hours per week, reporting to the Director of Commitment Class. Primary Responsibilities § Be involved in the planning and implementation of Wednesday night programming with the CC Director § Meet weekly with the CC Director for program and pastoral planning as well as personal development and feedback § Attend and help facilitate Wednesday night CC Programs § Speak/Preach when assigned to a Wednesday night. Provide additional upfront presence through games, announcements, prayer, etc. § Build and maintain relationships with CC Mentors, Student Leaders, and 9th grade students. Meet with assigned leaders regularly throughout the year § Help plan and lead the following CC events throughout the year: Commitment Class fall and spring retreats, April Prayer Service, April Commitment Class weekend services, and other events that may arise Essential Duties Conduct and comply with church policies as they relate to this position. Requires good hand-eye coordination, agility, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and computer mouse. Sufficient abilities to move from place to place in the building as needed. Pass a background investigation with no felony convictions. No DUI or felony driving convictions, or no more than three current moving violations convictions in order to drive CPC vehicles. Maintain current and valid Minnesota insurance coverage on your own vehicle, and a current and valid Minnesota driver’s license relative to using your own vehicle or a CPC vehicle for job-related transportation. Able to communicate effectively in English with staff, congregation, visitors, and vendors during work time. Regular and reliable attendance to perform primary responsibilities of the position. Position Profile and Qualifications Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge in using Windows-based workstation in a networked environment; Microsoft Office applications to include Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, preferably Pro Presenter, and some database application experience preferred, but not necessary. Abilities: Requires the ability to independently perform all of the duties of the position efficiently and effectively; able to take work direction and complete as assigned; clear and concise communication skills; ability to work with difficult interpersonal situations as they arise out of ministry work. Working Conditions: Work is performed indoors and outdoors with some potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to use of computers or other office equipment. Potential hazards as they relate to outdoor activities such as skiing, snowboarding, or snow-tubing.
