APPLICATION
Cat. Nos. 74000 and 75000 with removable
modules are designed for installation at the service
entrance and at branch panels, or as dedicated
TVSS for critical equipment. These devices provide
dedicated surge protection for each phase-toneutral, phase-to-ground and neutral-to-ground in
three-phase WYE systems. The diagnostic features
allow users to monitor surge events on the
incoming AC power line, including the magnitude,
date and time of the event.
74000 and 75000 Series
TYPICAL SPECIFICATION
All 74000/75000 units are designed for use where
a multi-phase, transient voltage surge suppressor
(TVSS) is specified. They provide full 7-mode
protection in 120/208V and 277/480V WYEconfigured, 3-phase systems. 74000 series panels
feature individually fused 40mm-diameter, metaloxide varistor arrays and EMI/RFI filter circuitry
equipped with high-voltage-rise capacitors for
harmonic tolerance. 75000 series panels employ arrester-grade 53mm-diameter MOV arrays for the
most severe surge exposure environments. Features include advanced diagnostic monitoring of
protection status for each phase, a surge event counter that records amplitude, date and time of event,
an audible alarm for protection status, and replaceable plug-in modules. All units have been tested to
ANSI/IEEE C62.45 standards for Category A, B and C environments and are UL 1449 (2nd Edition)
Listed. They are also backed by Leviton’s Limited Ten-Year Warranty.

Functionality
Detail of Diagnostic Display Panel on the 74000 and 75000 Series
DIAGNOSTIC CAPABILITIES
• Monitors the status of each phase
• Display will indicate “Fault”, “Alert”, and “Protection” status
• Functions include a surge event counter, amplitude measurement, the date and the time of the event
• Events are stored and can be recalled and downloaded by the user
NORMAL OPERATIONS:
• Green indicators (up to 3) will no longer be illuminated during a fault condition
• Yellow indicator light will illuminate and audible alarm will sound when one of the fuses in the surge module opens due to surge activity.
The module screen will flash the percentage of protection that is active (e.g., 75% protection when 1 fuse is open)
• Red indicator light will illuminate and audible alarm will sound when protection level is at 50% or less
• Information is easily downloadable via RS-232/422 port using the program “Hyperterminal” that comes standard on any
Windows operating software
• Arrow buttons allow user to view surge event history on each line by scrolling through data
• Remove supervision—Cat. No. 52000-RS may also be used with 74000/75000 panels for remote monitoring
