SCHEDULE OF REQUIREMENT
Supply trenching and laying of 6 Quad cable & OFC along with associated accessories.
Jointing, Testing & Commissioning of complete Quad cable system & OFC in Betul - Itarsi
(107 RKms.) section of Nagpur Division of C.Rly.

Final location survey of cable route and final
preparation of Cable route plan as per
technical supplement and painting of cable
offset on every OHE gaintry post.
Excavation of trenches upto a depth of 1000
mm of appropriate width at the bottom for all
types of soil, except in Rocky soil, back filling
after laying of HDPE duct, ramming of the soil
in trenches and consolidation of soil as well
as the disposal of the excess soil if any, and
provision of stone/RCC cable route marker at
50 m as detailed in technical supplement and
as advised by engineer at site. (This includes
removing of obstructions, route etc., from the
cable route required.)
Excavation of cable trench in rocky area i.e.
cutting of rock and making channel, laying of
S&T cables and/or HDPE duct in G.I. Pipe,
fixing of GI pipes along with sockets & fixing
material with suitable GI clamps ( all fixing
material to be arranged by the contractor).
However the common clamp shall be used for
both GI pipes when they are laid horizontally.
Spreading of stone dust over formation of
rock cutting, cement concreting and back
filling after laying of required quantity of S&T
cables/HDPE duct in G.I. pipes as per Drg no.
SK-740 C. This item includes laying & fixing of
GI pipes along with the clamps.
i Supply of GI pipe 65 mm dia B class and
other fixing material (like clamps, sockets &
fittings.)
ii) Installation of GI pipe with fixing of all
material as mentioned at 2b above.
Protective works to enable the laying of
QD/OFC in DWC pipe on level crossing
gates, underneath the track for crossing of
track, underneath / over the culverts and
bridges other than girder bridges and other
specific locations. It includes trenching & back
filling after laying and all other required
material etc. to suit the site condition &
restore back the surface to original as detailed
in the technical supplement and as advised by

and other fixing material.
ii) Installation of DWC pipe with fixing of all
material as mentioned at 2c above.
Protective works to enable the laying of
QD/OFC in GI pipe on girder bridges,
masonry bridges, Tunnels, cuttings, walls,
culverts & other specific locations etc. It
includes trenching & backfilling, concreting,

support pillars, clamping on walls etc. after
laying and all other required material to suit
the site condition to restore back the surface
to original as detailed in the technical
supplement and as advised by the engineer at
site.
i) Supply of GI pipe (65 mm dia) B class with
special fittings & other required material etc.
ii) Installation of GI pipe with fixing of all
material as mentioned at 2d above.
Execution of Trenchless Horizontal boring
(HDD) work as per directions of Engineer-in2e
charge or site engineer along with supply of
DWC pipe..
i Supply of DWC pipe and other fixing
material.
ii) Installation of DWC pipe with fixing of all
material as mentioned at 2e above.

Supply of Laying of well burnt second class
bricks of standard size (approx. 225x100x75
MM) in station area/other locations where
such protection is required. Sample of bricks
shall be got approved by engineer in charge

before supply & laying. 9-10 bricks per meter
shall be laid so as to ensure complete
covering. In case of variance in the size of the
brick, proportionate payment based on the
volume of the brick supplied shall be made
subject to the maximum rate of standard size.

Supply & Fixing of Krone type 10 pair CT
Boxes with GD tubes, LD etc with
disconnection facility and termination of U/G
jelly filled cable, derivation cable as per the
site requirement. It includes supply of fixing
material such as hylem sheet, 12 mm thick,
nuts and bolts etc., suitable size of GI pipe for
fixing it on the wall.
Supply & Fixing of Krone type 20 pair CT
Boxes with GD tubes, LD etc with
disconnection facility and termination of U/G
jelly filled cable, derivation cable as per the
site requirement. It includes supply of fixing
material such as hylem sheet, 12 mm thick,
nuts and bolts etc., suitable size of GI pipe for
fixing it on the wall.
Supply of cable termination panel fitted with 4
Nos. of 32 way "U" link feed panel complete
with 'U' links (as per drg. No.
SK/CSTE/C/97/26) Sample shall be got
approved by Engineer-in-charge.
Installation of termination panel, termination of
underground cable on "U" link feed panel,
supply of wiring material and wiring of
circulatory as per instructions of Engineer at
site (as per Drg. No. SK/CSTE/C/97/26.)
CABLE QUAD/PIJF JOINTING
Supply of Thermoshink jointing kit for straight
through joint for following underground
cables, with all accessories as per RDSO
Specn. No. IRS: TC 77-2000 with latest
amendments as per size of conductor and
pair.
Reinforced thermoshrink jointing kit for
straight through joints for 6 quad cable size
0.9 mm dia. Cable as per IRS TC30-97
TSF - 1 kits for PIJF cable of 10 pair, 0.6mm
dia. Cable as per IRS TC/41-97
Making of thermoshrink straight through joint
for underground jelly filled cable 6 quad/10

Supply of reinforced Thermoshink jointing kit
for 2T transformer joint for 6 quad cable IRS
TC 30/97 this includes supply of complete
thermoshrink joint of size 75/15 mm complete
with accessories supplied by the thermoshrink
jointing kit manufacturers and additional
accessories required for complete. Joint kit
shall be as per RDSO Specn. No. IRS: TC 772000 with latest amendments as per size of
conductor and pair and 2 nos of transformers
required for the joint shall be supplied by the
contractor.
Making of reinforced thermoshrink 2T
transformer joint complete with accessories
and making protection of the joint with brick
chamber..
Supply (as per drg.no.SK-728 R) , fixing &
installation of stone type cable route /joint
marker (as per installation plan given)
ELECTRONIC LOCATOR SYSTEM (MIDRANGE) as per TEC Specn.No.G/TIE-07/01
with latest amendments.
Supply and Installation of Markers MidRange.
EARTHING ARRANGEMENTS
Provision of earth electrode inclusive of
supply of complete material i.e. earth
electrode, charcoal, salt, cement, sand, water
etc & provision of cement concrete. The earth
resistance should not be more than 5 ohms.
Enclosures as per constructions practices.
This includes earthing arrangement at places
where High Voltage/Power lines crossings are
there enroute. Earthing as per RDSO drawing
(RDSO Drg. No. TCA-565 ADV & TC 566).
Earthing of armour under ground JF cable
and extending it to telecom- equipment. The
earth wire shall be G.I. 8 SWG size connected
through GI lug at either end and terminated in
cable hut/SP/SSP/LC Gate/cabin etc. on OBA
terminal 5 mm dia. All material required shall

Fabrication of EC socket Assembly and
erection of fabricated assembly at the location
indicated in the route chart and as per
direction of the Engineer-in-charge. This
includes cutting of Rails to required size,
supply and welding of GI pipe and base plate,
fixing of EC socket box, transportation of
material to site, digging of pit and erection of
whole assembly. Termination of derivation
cable on strip inside emergency socket box.
Fixing of EC Socket complete with termination
of derivation cable on strip inside the EC box
duly mounted on good quality board where
ever necessary as per instructions of the site
Engineer.
Supply of paint and painting of Emergency
Socket assembly by applying one coat of Red
Oxide as base colour. Painting the assembly
as per Zebra painting in white and black
colour. The width of each strip should be
100mm. The paint shall be either from
Asian/Shalimar/ Nerolac with ISI mark. ( Paint
& painting material required, shall be supplied
by the contractor and approved by Engineerin-charge)
Painting of Telephone mark with indicating
arrow indicating the direction of the nearest
Emergency Socket on the OHE mast. The
various paints used shall be either from
Asian/Shalimar/Nerolac with ISI mark. Size of
the Telephone mark should be approved by
the site engineer.
