ADHESIVE LINED HEATSHRINK TERMINALS
The internal adhesive of the heatshrink terminals bonds securely to both
the terminal and cable. The combination of crimping, heatshrink and adhesive
creates a level of strain relief not achievable with standard terminal types.
The shrink/adhesive combination also produces a seal that prevents water
and dust getting into the back of the terminal.

Apply heat. As can be seen, the terminal
insulation not only shrinks firmly around
the cable but also releases an adhesive
to increase the strain relief and create a
waterproof seal.
Select the correct size terminal for
your application and crimp as per
standard terminals.

HEAVY DUTY BATTERY CONNECTORS
Commonly used in materials handling applications but ideal for environments where a durable, rugged
connector, capable of high current transfer is required. Constructed of impact resistant polycarbonate, the
connector housings offer both high physical strength and dielectric properties. The silver plated solid copper
terminals offer low resistance for superior conductivity, while self cleaning contact design resists arcing by
keeping the conductive surfaces clean and free of corrosion. All
terminals have flared and heat treated barrels that readily accept
fine stranded wire and allow easy, high quality crimping. Integral
stainless steel springs maintain constant pressure on the terminal
to ensure a consistent, low resistance connection.

HEATSHRINK TUBING
Narva heatshrink is manufactured using flame-retardant/self-extinguishing polyolefin making it suitable for
most automotive applications. Dual Wall heatshrink combines an increased wall thickness with adhesive to
create an increased level of strain relief not achievable with standard heatshrink tubing. The use of adhesive
also creates a waterproof seal. The 56392BL Flameless Heat Gun is ideal for use with all heatshrink types.

Select the correct size heatshrink

The tubing shrinks firmly around the
application. When using Dual Wall an adhesive
is released as shown to increase the strain
relief and create a waterproof seal.
Once crimping is complete apply heat to the

AUTOMOTIVE CABLE
Quality: Narva offers high quality cable for all sectors of the automotive market. The Narva cable uses oxygen
free copper and RoHS compliant polyvinyl-chloride (V90 PVC) insulation in accordance with Australian
Standards AS/NZS3808 and Road Train trailer cables comply with Australian Design Rule ADR 63/00.
Merchandising: For the retailer Narva has developed an excellent range of merchandisers to complement
the already established Narva merchandising program in the electrical trade category. Retail spools carry
convenient lengths of 4 and 7 metres and are designed to hang independently
or as part of a modular wire rack (refer page 348). Trade lengths can also be
merchandised in store with the aid of the cable stands or gondola dispensers
(refer pages 349–351) The cable stands not only organise and dispense but
identify the cable with barcode and description. The ‘Cable Caddy’ is a mobile
work station that can be positioned near the workspace providing easy and
immediate access to the most popular cable types and sizes.
Amp Rating: The Australian standard calls for cable to be rated with a
maximum conductor temperature of 60oC at 25oC ambient. However it is
becoming more common to refer to the JIS or JASO standards for automotive
cable which rates the cable with a maximum conductor temperature of
80oC, giving a higher rating for the same cable.
Cable Markings: An excellent feature of the larger cables is the cable
markings. Larger cables are marked with cable type, copper dimension
(mm2) and amperage rating.
Part Number System:* The part number system indicates number of
cores, dia, length, colour or cable type.

MARINE CABLE
All cables are manufactured using oxygen free copper and RoHS compliant polyvinyl-chloride (V90 PVC)
insulation in accordance with Australian and New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 3808. The marine cable features
the added benefit of tin coated copper strands for increased corrosion resistance. All outer sheaths use
white PVC to better suit the marine industry.
