Remote, Wireless Alarm / Alerting System
The J-RAS remote alarm / alerting system has been
designed to provide a localized audible and visual
personnel alerting system via remote commands.
Whatever the need for a localized alarm / alerting system,
the J-RAS offers a bright red flashing strobe light and very
loud 112db siren with a warble tone. An auxiliary relay
contact can be used to turn on another device using the
built in Web interface or sending http:// commands. The
system can be connected to either a local area network or
across the Internet allowing remote control.
Connectivity can be via your LAN, a small WiFi radio link
or cellular. The WiFi model comes standard with 2 short
range 5.8GHz radios (about 1-mile line-of-sight) while the
cellular model is equipped with a rugged cellular modem.
Each system is built into an all-weather fiberglass control
enclosure with stainless mount brackets.

J-RAS Models
There are three J-RAS model to select from based upon your communication situation. Once connected to the Internet,
control of the J-RAS can be handled easily through a Web browser, controlled from another J-RAS unit, or from a custom
application program or custom Web page. The following describes the various models and shows how they can be
controlled over the Internet:
J-RAS-LAN - this is the most basic model and is designed to be directly connect to a
local area network (LAN) connection. If that LAN has access to the Internet, then this
model can be controlled from any remote location that is also connected to the Internet.
Internet
J-RAS-WiFi - this model is designed to be used where a short WiFi link is more cost
effective than it is to bury a CAT5 cable. This model comes standard with two short
range 5.8GHz wireless radios that have been pre-configured to automatically connect
to each other in the field. This communications link does require clear line-of-sight
transmission (no obstructions in the signal path) for distances up to 1-mile maximum.

J-RAS-CELL - this model is the most versatile in that it provides an Internet connection
to the J-RAS across a wireless cellular network. If the equipment is to be located
where your cellular telephone now works, it is highly probable that the J-RAS-CELL will
also work. A wireless cellular carrier account is required for this model to function (there
will also be a monthly bill from that cellular carrier).

What’s Included
Each model comes standard with an industrial grade Red strobe light and all-weather siren mounted to a NEMA 4X fiberglass
control enclosure. The enclosure is provided with stainless steel universal mounting brackets for easy wall or pole mounting.
Other special brackets are available as options. The control enclosure holds the IP based alarm system module and an AC/
DC power supply that will accept 110/220VAC power through a 25ft outdoor rated power cord (the cord can be removed and
replaced with a Liquid Tight conduit fitting for permanent wiring by an electrician). The enclosure is also fitted with a pressure
relief valve to prevent any door gasket bulging due to extreme temperature fluctuations. All connectors on the bottom of the
enclosure are waterproof.
The J-RAS-WiFi model is also equipped with a PoE power injector to power the small 5.8GHz wireless radio that can be
mounted on the same pole as control enclosure through a 6ft outdoor grade CAT5 cable The other radio is provided with an
indoor AC PoE power injector and a 25ft CAT cable.
The J-RAS-CELL model is equipped with dual band, diversity antennas for the industrial grade cellular modem housed inside
the control enclosure. Each antenna is fitted with a surge and lightning protector. This model requires a cellular carrier
account which will be billed monthly.
