MANUFACTURING
Frontline Communications has been manufacturing custom broadcast
vehicles since 1985. After developing the first seamless custom aluminum
body satellite news vehicle, Frontline Communications set the industry
standard for ENG/DSNG news gathering with the E-350 ST, addressing
spacing concerns with the E-350 HT and responding to budget-concious
customers with the E-350 LT.
Frontline Communications offers a full line of turnkey broadcast and
production vehicles used for ENG/DSNG electronic news gathering
transmission, satellite uplink/downlink and video production. Additional
services we offer include operator training, system design and support,
and complete repair and refurbishment services. All Frontline Communications
vehicles are built in our 100,000 square feet, state-of-the-art facility
located in Clearwater, FL.
Frontline Communications offers full-line service capabilities with facilities
in Harvey, IL; Calumet City, IL; Oud-Beijerland, Holland and a facility in the
United Kingdom.

ENGINEERING
Frontline Communications’ engineering team is comprised of professionals
who have an in-depth background in complex vehicle design, with
experience integrating a multitude of projects of every type. These range
from legacy analog broadcast systems to high definition television
production and transmission vehicles. Our latest broadcast systems feature
format-friendly designs, allowing a smooth transition from analog to the
latest in high definition and IP based contribution, communications and
control systems. Frontline Communications’ systems engineering
provides the broadest, most flexible, scalable and comprehensive solutions

DSNG-350 LT
The Frontline Communications’ ENG-350 LT shares the same high-quality
construction and engineering design as the ST and HT models. The LT was
designed to provide the most essential operating features while fulfilling its
role as a fully functional ENG van. The LT offers budget-conscious choices
of A/V, RF and communications equipment, and is built to uphold all of
Frontline Communications’ unparalleled quality standards.

The 350-ST or “Standard Top” is based on the Ford® E-350 cargo van chassis
with V-10 engine and a full-length roof platform. Its wide range of standard
features and available options add up to the best value in the ENG van market.

custom-raised roof assembly provides excellent headroom, a central-duct
air conditioning system and 80 full-width rack spaces — the most available
on the Ford® E-350 van.

DSNG/ENG SPRINTER
At 9,990 pounds GVWR, the Sprinter provides the highest possible payload
capacity in a van type vehicle, with no commercial driver’s license required
for operation. The Sprinter, available in ENG, DSNG and combination versions,
offers generators from 8 to 15 kW, and air conditioning/power systems
perfectly suited to any application.

DSNG/ENG/EFP NT-4
The NT-4 bridges the gap between van-based systems and full-size trucks.
Typically configured with a walk-through, it offers full standing headroom and
plenty of space for personnel. Available with gas or diesel power, the NT-4
offers numerous advantages over conventional ENG or DSNG vans,
including greater interior space and increased storage capacity. Available
in rack-ready, RF-ready or complete turnkey configurations.

These vehicles have the most space of any full-size satellite news vehicles,
and offer separate edit and production areas, sheltered interior maintenance
access and a custom central-duct air conditioning system. Designed with a
flat-top roof for consistent headroom and greater interior operation
space, they are available in rack-ready, RF-ready and complete analog or
digital turnkey configurations.

Members of our staff have vast real world experience and training in vehicle
system designs and modification. Frontline Communications’ systems
designers have developed and implemented advanced television
systems, digital audio and video systems, compressed digital signal
systems, advanced computer system technology, high speed data
networking and asset management technology.

Frontline Communications utilizes a very comprehensive in-house computer
aided design CAD system. All documentation is computer generated and
produced on laser printers or high-speed color plotters capable of working
with all drawings up to E size. Our staff has over 50 years of combined CAD
design experience. Frontline Communications’ implementation of computer
aided design includes more than fifteen full capability CAD workstations
and fully integrated software which encompasses project management,
purchasing, order tracking and virtually every other aspect of our work.
This flexibility also reduces costs to our customers while staying on schedule.

HD MAST CAMERA
Frontline Communications is pleased to introduce the broadcast industry’s
first premium high definition mast camera, the HD-1 Mast Cam. The HD-1
allows broadcasters to capture that hard to get live shot in high definition.
The HD-1 model includes a touch screen controller that provides full CCU
control. The HD-2 model utilizes a standard Frontline Communications’
controller as a lower cost alternative.
