Thermoscreens believe in sustainability and to this end adhere strictly to the Environmental Management Systems BS EN ISO14001:2004. Established Brand Advanced Engineering and Design Excellent Service Excellent Quality Outstanding Reliability Availability Competitive Solutions 4 WHY FIT AN AIR CURTAIN? Comfort: Air curtains help promote the perfect environment whether warm, cool or ambient. Open Door Policy: Air curtains promote open door trading in retail outlets and provides uninterrupted access for passing trade. Energy Saving: Air curtains over open doors promote significant energy savings. Typically warm air escapes and cold air enters. Protection: Air curtains help to ensure a clean and healthy environment. Health and Safety: In refrigeration applications, Thermoscreens cold store air curtains can significantly reduce the ingress of warm air when doors are required to be left open for access helping to retain the refrigerated air inside. With an air curtain warm air is retained and cold air entering is heated. Ease of Installation: Air curtains are not only easy to install but also easy to maintain throughout their serviceable life. A simple and cost effective solution for a comfortable environment. www.thermoscreens.ca 5 THE PERFECT ENVIRONMENT 6 AIR CURTAIN SELECTION GUIDE To ensure maximum effectiveness and comfort, it is important to choose the correct air curtain. An air curtain with too little velocity will not be able to stop cold draughts from entering the building whilst an air curtain that is too powerful which has been installed at the incorrect door height could be noisy and uncomfortable. To select the appropriate air curtain the following factors should be taken into account: • Type of building and the interior design of the premises • Type of air curtain required - Surface mounted or recessed Surface Mounted Recessed - Electrical, Water or Ambient • Voltage and power supply • Installation height - If an air curtain is to operate to maximum effectiveness, it is essential that the air curtain has sufficient air velocity to discharge over the whole height and width of the doorway. • The width of the door opening - The air curtain should be wider than the width of the door. Overlapping the full opening, the air curtain controls the ingress or air and other pollutants maintaining a comfortable environment. • Characteristics of buildings (i.e. door way locations, through draughts). • Ensure the units are positioned as close to the door opening as possible and that there are no obstructions between the air curtain jet of air and the opening of the door. www.thermoscreens.ca 7 ECOPOWER PLUS High fan Increase heat Benefits: Promotes energy/carbon savings On/off Maintains comfortable environment User friendly Medium Fan Provides temperature sensing remote to the air curtain Outdoor temperature sensing mode Auto or Manual Low Fan Consistent temperature levels BMS ready Reduce heat Ease of installation Interchangeable with previous Ecopower models Cost $’s Non ecopower: $6,305 Ecopower: $3,874 Annual Saving: $2,430 No air curtain Non ecopower Ecopower Years The above information is for reference purposes only Maintains comfortable environment 8 ECOPOWER PLUS TECHNICAL FEATURES New Design The new ‘single gang wall box’ design will fit flush against the wall and will be surface mounted. This new shape and design will facilitate ease of installation and operation. The Ecopower Plus is supplied with 6m lead as standard. Built-in Thermistor Temperature Sensor The Ecopower Plus offers significant energy savings with the built-in temperature sensor. The air curtain can now use the built-in temperature sensor for heating control. This allows for optimum usage of the air curtain and maintains a comfortable environment. If temperature sensing remote to the air curtain is not required, the temperature sensor within the air curtain can be extended to sense the air curtain’s return air temperature. Optional Outdoor Sensor Air entering Built in thermistor temperature sensor The Ecopower Plus features the option to connect to an outdoor temperature sensor. This feature operates in automatic mode to the following settings: If the outdoor temperature sensor measures less than 10 ºC (50 ºF), both heat stages are enabled (Full heat). If the outdoor temperature sensor measures between 10 ºC (50 ºF) and 15 ºC (59 ºF) only 1st stage heating will be enabled (Half heat). If the outdoor temperature sensor measures more than 15 ºC (59 ºF), no heat stages are enabled and the air curtain will re-circulate the ambient air in the room as no heating is required. Memory User Settings If the electrical supply to the unit is removed, once it is restored the unit will operate on the exact settings as before. The controller is supplied with retain user settings as the default position. www.thermoscreens.ca 9 C RANGE Surface Mounted 3.0 2.75 C1000 C1500 C2000 0 C1000 C1500 C2000 R R R 0 0.8 -1.0 1.0 -1.5 1.5 -2.0 0.8 -1.0 1.0 -1.5 1.5 -2.0 Door Width (m) Door Width (m) C Range Surface Mounted All electrically heated units have a selection of three fan speeds and two heat control stages. Care needs to be taken when selecting air curtains for an installation as noise levels can be several dB higher if the mounting height is reduced, if the room is more “live” (i.e. hard surfaces, no furnishings or absorbent materials), if the room is smaller than 8 ac/h equivalent or a combination of these factors. Noise levels will also increase if more than one air curtain is installed at the same doorway (e.g. + 3dBA for 2 equal point sources: direct field). www.thermoscreens.ca 11 C RANGE Recessed 2.75 C1000 C1500 C2000 R R R 0 0.8 -1.0 1.0 -1.5 1.5 -2.0 Door Width (m) C Range Recessed All electrically heated units have a selection of three fan speeds and two heat control stages.
