TheNewYorkDeclarationalsocontainsconcreteplansforhowtobuildonthese commitments: • Startnegotiationsleadingtoaninternationalconferenceandtheadoption ofaglobalcompactforsafe,orderlyandregularmigrationin2018.The agreementtomovetowardthiscomprehensiveframeworkisa momentousone.Itmeansthatmigration,likeotherareasofinternational relations,willbeguidedbyasetofcommonprinciplesandapproaches. • Developguidelinesonthetreatmentofmigrantsinvulnerablesituations. Theseguidelineswillbeparticularlyimportantfortheincreasingnumber ofunaccompaniedchildrenonthemove. • Achieveamoreequitablesharingoftheburdenandresponsibilityfor hostingandsupportingtheworld’srefugeesbyadoptingaglobalcompact onrefugeesin2018.
