When you have a home emergency, help is just a phone call away at any time of day or night, 7 days a week. As soon as you call, we’ll organise to have one of our experienced tradespeople on your doorstep most often within the hour. In fact, last year in over 90% of cases, we were on the doorstep in less than 60 minutes. RACV Emergency Home Assist is available throughout metro Melbourne, as well as most regional areas in Victoria^. One annual fee and no charge for RACV to attend* Home emergencies can be costly, especially if they happen in the middle of the night, or on weekends. But for less than most tradespeople charge for one callout, you will be covered for up to 8 call outs per year. One low annual fee is all you’ll pay. There’s no charge for RACV to attend. No call-out fees. No after hours or weekend rates. Even the cost of labour and minor materials used during the service call-out is included. Fix or make safe In almost 70% of cases, we’ll fix the problem on the spot. But on those rare occasions when we can’t, we’ll make temporary repairs to make sure that your home is safe and secure, reducing the risk of further damage. If your emergency requires specialised or more extensive repairs, we’ll give you expert advice on what should be done next and if you wish, we’ll happily arrange for a qualified tradesperson to quote on doing the work for you. Internal or external gas leaks as a result of damaged gas appliances or leaking gas pipe lines. Broken or damaged heating/cooling system. As a result of gas or electrical problems, faulty components or the inability to reignite the pilot light. Broken or burst hot water system. Broken or damaged system as the result of a burst unit, gas or electrical problems, faulty components, or even just the inability to reignite the pilot light. A blocked toilet, pipe or drain. Preventing smooth water flow, causing overflow or backup. A damaged roof, gutter or downpipe causing an internal leak. Water leaking internally through the ceiling or walls. Burst pipe. Physical breakage of a pipe or joint, causing significant water wastage, home or property damage. Being locked out of the house. Unable to gain access into your home. A burst tap or showerhead. The inability to control water flow as the result of a burst tap or showerhead causing significant water wastage, home or property damage. Broken door or window. Where home safety or security is threatened as a result of damage to an external door or window such as broken glass, damaged locks, jammed doors or windows. (Limited availability of glass replacement, additional material fee applies). An even lower fee with Years of Membership Benefits If you’re already a member of RACV, your Years of Membership Benefits discount applies, which makes RACV Emergency Home Assist even better value. Establishment fee If you’re not already an RACV member, a one off establishment fee of $34 applies in the first year of your subscription. If you hold RACV Emergency Roadside Assistance, the renewal period for RACV Emergency Home Assist can be aligned, so you receive one combined renewal for both services. This means that in the first year, your annual subscription may be reduced on a pro rata basis.
