Kerf Mount Corner Bracket Instructions The location of the kerfs on the apron pieces depends on the size of the table leg and the setback (if any) of the apron from the legs’ outer edges. 1/8" x 5/16" saw kerf 1.Cut a stopped 1/2" chamfer on the top inside corners of all table legs. 2.Position a table leg and the adjoining apron pieces upside down on a flat surface. Make sure that the apron pieces are positioned as you want them to be, with the desired setback, and are square to the leg. 3.Hold a Corner Bracket so that the large center mounting holes are centered on the chamfer on the table leg and the flat areas next to the kerf tabs are flush with the apron pieces. Mark the apron pieces at the tabs to locate the kerfs. #8 x 5/8" pan-head screw Use a 1/4", 5/16" or 3/8" hanger bolt and nut 5/32" 117⁄32" 1/2" chamfer on inside corner of leg 3/8" x 7/16" 13⁄16" 3/8" 11/32" 17⁄16" 7/32" D 23/32" 31⁄16" 4.Repeat Steps 2 and 3 for other table legs. 5.Cut 1/8" wide x 5/16" deep kerfs in the apron pieces at the marked locations. If the marked locations differ from corner to corner, be sure to keep track of the pieces’ orientation. 6.Position the Corner Brackets so that their tabs fit in the kerfs in the apron pieces. Mark mounting hole locations and drill pilot holes for #8 x 5/8" pan-head screws (not included). Pilot holes should be 5/64" for softwood or 3/32" for hardwood. 24281 Rev 7/16 7.Screw the Corner Brackets to the apron pieces, then position the table legs and mark locations for pilot holes for the hanger bolts (not included). If the Corner Brackets are mounted flush to the top edge of the apron, the holes will be 23/32" from the top of the legs. 9.Connect the table legs to the Corner Brackets with the appropriate size of washers and nuts (not included).
