It can communicate with the 3M APIS Server using either Wi-Fi or UMTS cellular communications. The main function is to capture the APIS data from passports: • Automatic data capture of machine readable passports with additional check digit warnings • Optionally, manual data entry using keys, touch screen keyboard or handwriting • All required APIS fields for US and Canadian commercial API programs • Fields are either mandatory or optional based on flight routing and passenger’s nationality • All fields are validated prior to save • Full US address can be entered as required Flight Handling • Lists of flights can be created with each flight routing information being entered • The flight status can be scheduled, active or closed • Only active flights can capture passenger data Configuration Configuration tables are available for the following: • Countries with 2 and 3 character ISO/ICAO codes • US states with 2 character code • Airports with 3 character ICAO code Country and state tables are pre-populated. Entries may be edited, added to or deleted. © 3M 2009 2 Technical Data Sheet 3 Security Systems Division User Security and Roles The program requires a user name and password to start. Users can be created and roles assigned to user types. Tables are available to define: • Users – user name, password, initials and role • Roles – 7 functions can be enabled in any combination for each role Online Vetting Synchronisation AQQ requires on-line vetting. Once the APIS data has been captured for a passenger the save function will automatically forward the API data to the 3M™ Mobile APIS Solution Server for submission to CBP screening process. The reply will come back typically within seconds and is then added to the flight passenger manifest list. Configuration data can be synchronized between the Client and Server as follows: • Flights • Airports • Countries • States • Carriers • Users Administration © 3M 2009 • Security roles Various screens are dedicated to setting up and operating the 3M™ Mobile APIS Solution Client software including operational mode, APIS Server IP address and log enable and viewing. 3 Technical Data Sheet 3 Security Systems Division 3M™ APIS Solution Server Software Purpose The 3M™ Mobile APIS Solution Server Software runs on a PC, which is located at either the airport or a central location. The program communicates with the 3M™ Mobile APIS Solution Client Software running on the 3M™ Mobile ID Reader using TCP/IP protocols. The 3M™ Mobile APIS Solution Server Software can be used to manage configuration across the network of Mobile devices and collects and assembles passenger data from them for onward forwarding to an APIS gateway. The 3M™ Mobile APIS Solution Server Software uses the free Microsoft SQL Server Express Edition. Passenger Manifest Handling • The 3M™ Mobile APIS Solution Server Software collects the data from multiple 3M™ Mobile APIS Solution Software Clients and assembles the passenger data into one list. • In AQQ mode the passenger screening status is displayed Flight Handling • Lists of flights can be created with each flight routing information being entered • The flight can be scheduled, active, closed or archived • Once closed, the flight can send a Flight Close out message for AQQ. • Flights can be cancelled and the status of the flight changed from this screen Configuration Configuration tables are available for the following: • Countries with 2 and 3 character ISO/ICAO codes • US states with 2 character code • Airports with 3 character ICAO code Country and state tables come pre-populated. Entries can be edited, added to or deleted. © 3M 2009 4 Technical Data Sheet 3 Security Systems Division User Security and Roles The 3M™ Mobile APIS Solution Client Software requires a user name and password to start. Users can be created and roles assigned to user types. Tables are available to define: • Users – user name, password, initials and role • Roles – 7 functions can be enabled in any combination for each role Flight Close Out Once closed a flight can be “Closed Out”. This sends the APIS data via email to batch mode APIS receivers such as Canada. • Screen shows flight routing for visual confirmation before sending • Screen shows passengers on board and security checked for final confirmation and cross-check • Inbound or Outbound can be selected • Other email information added PNL Import Online Vetting Minimum PC Specifications The Flight screen can import a CSV file of passenger name list data. This can be used to pre-populate the passenger manifest for the flight with data received from a reservation system. This will be synchronized to the 3M™ Mobile APIS Solution Client Software and saves the agent from entering this data during check-in. AQQ requires on-line vetting. Once the APIS data has been captured for a passenger the save function will automatically forward the APIS data to the 3M™ Mobile APIS Solution Server for onwards submission to CBP screening process by the APIS Gateway. The reply will come back, typically within seconds, and is added to the flight passenger manifest list. The agent can then take the appropriate action; allow or deny boarding or contact CBP. Software must be installed on a customer-supplied PC.
