Vignan’s Foundation for Science, Technology and Research

ABOUT CIVIL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
After Military engineering, Civil engineering is considered as
one of the oldest branches of engineering. The Department of
Civil Engineering at Vignan University is committed to research
and development in civil engineering. The vision of the
department is to give an exposure to budding civil technocrats
to various challenges in the profession. The principal educational
objective of our department is to provide the students,
fundamental knowledge and the skills needed to resolve the
problems related with the construction and maintenance of
infrastructure in harmony with the society and the environment.

Bangalore, and Hyderabad Silicon valley of India and Chennai.
Tenali is on the New Delhi – Chennai main railway line. Major
trains going from Chennai to New Delhi via, Vijayawada,
Nagpur and Jhansi pass through Bhopal. Guntur is also well

The workshop on GIS is intended to equip the trainers in
academia with the practical skills on Geographic Information
System. Through open source software, the program will cover
creation of geo-maps from the scratch with overlays of thematic
information. The program will culminate with a case-study on
urban planning.
The workshop will be conducted through blended learning
approach with instructor-led sessions, practical demonstration,
and hands on exercises.
