The Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine Faculty Position The Department of Cellular and Molecular Physiology at The Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine invites applications from outstanding scientists with Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Successful candidates are expected to have, or develop a productive and nationally funded research program, mentor graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, participate in team-taught graduate and medical student courses, and contribute to relevant administrative activities. Priority will be given to individuals using molecular and cellular approaches to better understand the pathophysiology of metabolic diseases such as diabetes and obesity, or those that complement and extend the existing strengths of the Department. The position is part of the continuing growth of the Department and a planned major expansion of the research facilities of the College over the next few years. The Department has an interactive group of extramurally-funded investigators who have productive interactions with the Penn State Diabetes and Obesity Institute, Neuroscience Institute, Heart and Vascular Institute, and Cancer Institute. Excellent research facilities, strong departmental and interdepartmental graduate student training programs, excellent institutional core facilities all contribute to the productive research environment within the Department.
