GM Fuel Pump Assembly Harness (WH3010)
The Problem
On many GM applications, the wiring harness that connects the assembly
flange electrical connector to the fuel pump electrical connector is not
properly inspected as a part of fuel system repair.
This harness is prone to failure, leading to misdiagnosis and vehicle
come-backs. Connector housing cracks, pin and contact looseness, and
wire crimp issues can cause symptoms that simulate an issue with the
fuel pump.
The Solution
Airtex offers multiple solutions for GM flange-to-pump wiring harness
replacement. With pre-assembled as well as user-assembled versions,
Airtex wiring harnesses enable quick replacement of the failure-prone
original harness.
To ensure the job is done right, inspect and replace the flange-to-pump
harness assembly with a new harness from Airtex.
• Plug two position female connector into fuel pump male
connector (A).
• Plug spade connectors onto fuel sender in same order
as previously removed (B).
• Note previous configuration of Black/White wire and
reassemble as original.
• Route harness by wrapping around pump hanger
assembly to avoid wire interference with float arm.
• Plug four position connector into flange connection (C).
