QUARTZ EPR SAMPLE TUBES FROM WILMAD

Unique Properties of Quartz for EPR:

Quartz is pure silicon dioxide (SiO2),

Quartz has high dielectric constant : alters the microwave field and concentrates the field,

Quartz has a low level of paramagnetic impurities: prevents interferences.

Wilmad propose two types of Quartz: Clear Fused-Quartz (CQF), a naturally occurring material, and

Suprasil ® , the trade name of Heraeus-Amersil synthetic Quartz. Synthetic Quartz transmits electromagnetic radiation through the UV spectrum. Synthetic Quartz EPR tubes should be used when applying ionizing radiation to generate radical species and for a sample with very low signal.

Taperlock EPR sample tubes

Handling air-sensitive samples doesn't have to be difficult!

Taperlok® sample tubes make it fast and easy. Taperlok tubes eliminate the need to heat-seal sample tubes. Vacuum transfers and freeze-pump-thaws are simple. Just attach to a vacuum line.

The joint, a modified 5/20, can be separated for cleaning, or for manual sample introduction in a glovebox. Order Taperlok tubes with or without hooks. Hooks let you use springs to hold the joint together.

J Young valved tubes are very popular for air-sensitive samples, samples that generate moderate pressures and catalytic studies. Recommended for use when small aqueous samples are studied using JEOL's standard TE

011 cylindrical cavity resonator, these sample "cells" are more durable and easier to handle because of their heavy wall construction (OD = 4.0mm). Made from the highest quality synthetic Suprasil® quartz, these capillary cells provide excellent performance at temperatures from 5 to 100°C. These cells are fully compatible with JEOL's tube caps and collet for 4mm OD tubes.

EPR Tube cleaning supplies

When cleaning your NMR/EPR tubes is as simple as a rinse.

Solvent Jet Cleaners minimize your clean-up time, so you can maximize your research time. They are available in both single and five tube versions, and with ground joint connections, too. You just fit atop a filter flask, insert tubes, start your aspirator and spray your cleaner solvents into the reservoir. Leave the tube in place to let the air flow dry the tube.

Each washer comes with a modified EPR Tube Cap that you use as a gasket. You can replace it easily with a spare from your cap supply.
