Job Description: EMC Subject Matter Expert One of the world’s largest automotive suppliers is looking for a highly skilled individual that can build team expertise in Automotive EMC. From expanding local R&D center, this challenging technical and leadership position will be respected and compensated accordingly. See contact information at bottom. Expertise needed in the following areas: Automotive regulatory environment, compliance, and government interface Theoretical understanding of circuit/automotive interactions Foundation of all activities: Circuit analysis/simulation/ prevention and solution methods across Power/Digital(high & low speed)/Analog/RF domains Experience in review of learning from recent issues resolution Understanding of design rule methodology and design automation Customer expectations thru test planning, documentation and execution Responsibilities formerly restated The primary responsibilities of this position are: A. Set EMC countermeasures by hardware for all the electronic devices developed by the Mobis including high/low frequency devices, green car, video, body, multi‐media, chassis, etc. B. Develop design check rules to handle EMC‐related matters for different types of hardware C. Develop improvement plans about EMC problems to meet specifications strengthened due to the stronger regulations. The plans may cover MDPS, inverter, electronic brake, video, ACU, etc. D. Establish EMC response process optimal for electronic device development for vehicles E. Plan projects and processes to resolve EMC‐related problems. F. Form a team, manage engineers’ work, and solve EMC problems in projects Additionally, the position holder will provide researchers in home office R&D with consultation for the followings upon request: A. Research about enhancing testing methodologies using advanced simulation techniques for EMC B. Measure EMI(radiated emission and conducted emission) performance measurement and make improvement plans C. Improve EMC design and validate improvements D. Study international regulations and internal OE requirements of OEs and develop strategic responses accordingly Following the timeline in the below, the position holder will: 1) by ~2016: set up the organization and processes which will enable the company EMC organization to lead their own independent development while conducting his/her responsibilities and 2) by ~2017: establish and follow the process to check EMC issues of electronic devices and resolve issues The position holder will work in the research lab of North America and will have an engineer dispatched from home office who will coordinate development progress with home office. Must have at least fifteen years’ experience in automotive‐related EMC First‐tier automotive supplier with this experience is highly regarded Top level Electronic company, Aircraft or Automake experience is desired An appropriate doctorate degree is preferred but a master’s degree minimum with commensurate experience from top level USA, Europe, or Japan university.
