It offers students the opportunity to recognise and investigate the use of mathematics in real situations. This program introduces the participant to a number of people from a variety of backgrounds, who highlight how they use maths in their day to day work. Students are then able to select challenges to investigate, based on the ‘expert’ or theme of their choice, to test their maths investigative skills. With a range of topics and themes, and its practical applications to the real world, students are bound to find challenges that meet their areas of interest. Problem Solving Learning Kit This kit introduces students to effective problem solving strategies. It will assist to fine tune their problem solving skills and is a great way to encourage students to develop specific strategies that will allow them to approach problem solving in real life situations, with confidence.
