Procurement
Clarify procurement: Qualified or not?
1. ESCC Qualified configuration  OK See detailed spec for ordering
2. Non ESCC Qualified:
a.
Customer
b.
Divergence from ESCC qualified configuration 
i.
Components (fiber, cable, connector modification,..)
ii.
Environment (temperature, vibration, radiation,..)
iii. Process restriction
Custom product, Diamond will offer termination without guarantee on the
complete customer specification, but can provide consulting.

Lesson Learned
•
Epoxy process and types
• Evaluated 353ND and another one named Sample B,
this last one by error
• Qualified 353ND
• Performance of Sample B can be probably brought to
125°C, it will require extra qualification
• Introduced 100% epoxy sample for Space Grade
process.
• Sample B at ESTEC for outgassing measurements

Future evolution
•
Fiber
• New fibers are used every day and specification to
qualify fibers is required.
•
•
Cable
• PEEK tubing is partially acceptable, more flexible
cables are desired by end-users
Mini-AVIM cable
• Incompatibility of current Mini-AVIM is a limitation that
triggered the development of a Cabe version of the
Mini-AVIM
