because the design consists of three parts which
do not require dismantling before use.

The internal ratchet mechanism allows the cap
to be tightened without twisting the cord as it
compresses, pushing the collet fingers together
to form a liquid tight seal with the neoprene
compression bushing.

An integrated locking mechanism that includes
an internal ratchet inside the sealing portion of

Quick Installation:
The multi-trapezoidal thread requires just one
twist to tighten the dome cap- automatically
adjusting to the size of the cable and providing
optimum strain relief and liquid tight seal.
Resistant to: Salt water, weak acids, weak
alkalis, alcohol, ester, ketones,
ether, benzene, gas, mineral oil,
animal and vegetable oils,
gasoline, oil, grease, and
common solvents.
Durability:
Skintop incorporates a heavy duty design that
provides greater pullout strength and very reliable strain relief.
Skintop meets the most stringent demands of
safety and operational reliability. Skintop can
be used in panels, switches, control boxes,
submersible pumps, appliances and many
machine tool applications.
Easier Handling:
Larger ergonomic design and ridges in the dome
cap provides easier gripping and mounting by
hand or wrench.
Skintop is both a strain relief and a liquid tight
seal - all in one connector.
Larger Variable Clamping Range:
the uniquely designed collet, combined with the
optional reducing bushing accommodates a
broad range of cords, and cable diameters
resulting in the reduction in the number of connectors required in inventory.
Optimum seal:
Complete liquid tightness is achieved with a
uniquely designed molded sealing ring and
flange nut combined with a neoprene bushing
and domed sealing cap.

SKINTOPS
SKINTOP MS-SC: EMC PROTECTION
The Skintop MS-SC Screw connection is the ideal gland for all
copper-screened cables. The widely variable clamping ranges
greatly simplify mounting and allocation and thus permit economic
storage.
The skintop MS-SC looks like a normal gland, but contacts the
screen much more rapidly than any other system. With the Skintop
MS-SC the cable is centralized, attached, strain-relieved and hermetically sealed (IP 68). The Skintop MS-SC, the cable’s screening braid not only provides mechanical strength, but also helps
achieve and optimum low-resistance screen contact.
EASY TO MOUNT EMC SAFE GLAND
With the standard contacting:
· Strip back the outer sheath and screen
· Make a round cut in the outer sheath approximately
15 mm, along but not remove the sheath
· Guide the cable through the cable gland
· Pull off the outer sheath
· Pull back the cable until the connection is made
between the cable screen and contact spring
· Turn shut ... and it is ready to use!
With thin wires without an inner sheath:
· Strip back the outer sheath
· Pull back the screen braid approximately 15-20mm
over the outer sheath
· Insert the cables into the cable gland until the contact
is made between the cable screen and contact spring
· Turn shut ... and it is ready for use!
With routing the cable screen to another connection:
· Expose the screen braid approximately 10 mm
· Guide the cable through the cable gland until
the connection is made between the cable
screen and contract spring
· Turn shut ... and it is ready for use!

SVRE SERIES CABLE GLAND CONNECTORS
The SVRE cable clamp is a compact general purpose cable connector with an adjustable
multi-layered bushing. This gland benefits from a partially stamped series of concentrically
arranged neoprene rings. This allows one gland to accommodate a very large range of cable
sizes, therefore reducing the variety of glands needed.

This hexagonal flat cable gland consists of an upper and a lower part with special sealing insert
and two compression washers. The lateral sealing lips fit automatically around various cable
dimensions which allows flat cables of different dimensions to be sealed at the same time. With
suitable matching it is even possible to fit two flat cables with one gland.

FL SERIES CABLE GLAND CONNECTORS
The cable flange can be used universally for flat or round cables. It is mainly used for large flat
cables up to PG 48. Several flat cables can also be fed through at the same time. If several
round cables have to be fed through an extremely narrow space, the solid seal is drilled out
accordingly. The seal profiles enable many individual problems to be solved. Through the
conical internal contour in the upper part of the housing the sealing inserts are pressed on to the
cable. Applications include crane building, plant construction, for power chains and in restricted
spaces.

This makes it possible to extend the field application of the SHZ type gland for a higher protection
class range of IP 55. The seal is achieved by an incised sealing ring of neoprene and the

SR-SV SERIES CABLE GLAND CONNECTOR
The viton sleeve is extraordinarily resistant to oils, solvents, and
chemicals at high temperatures. Our specially developed Viton formulation with increased acid resistance is therefore particularly
suitable for use in machine and turbine construction in nuclear
power stations. Strain relief is provided by the solid brass clamping
shackle and is resistant to corrosion and to seawater.
Body Material: Nickel Plated Brass
O-ring: Viton

E SERIES CABLE GLAND CONNECTORS
Assembly Instructions: Remove the braiding. Slide the compression screw over the cable end,
bend the braiding at right angles upwards by about 4 to 6 mm and cut off all round. Place the
two part conical clamping ring around the braiding with the compression screw. Working from the
cable end, push the washer, the neoprene recessed sealing ring and lower part against the conical ring and compression screw and screw them firm together.

SHV SERIES CABLE GLAND CONNECTORS
The SHV Cable Connector is a metallic strain relief connector with a special tapered seal
designed to provide liquid tight sealing down to 300 feet (10 Bar) of water pressure. Best results
in applications where flexing is minimal.
Body Material: Nickel plated brass
Conical Seal: Neoprene
O-Ring: Perbunan (NBR)
Protection: IP 68, 10 Bar

INFORMATION ON CONVERTING FROM PG TO METRIC THREADS
Why are we converting?
As of December 31, 1999 the safety standard VDE 0619 and
the therein referenced standards DIN 46319 for metric dimensions and DIN 46320 for PG dimensions were withdrawn.
The new standard DIN EN 50262 became valid as of January 1,
2000.
The new standard defines the new metric sizes and governs the
new safety requirements. Dimension specifications for key
dimensions, jaw spans, etc. are not laid down.

CONSEQUENCES OF THE CONVERSION
The PG system may be utilized in the transition period up until
January 3, 2001. From this date, the utilization of PG housings
