SASA is actively engaged in several important initiatives including the SASA Scholarship Program, SASA Sports Luncheons and “Spotlights”, as well as community outreach. SASA Scholarship Program Provides college scholarships to high school student-athletes that demonstrate high academic standards, athletic participation, leadership, community service and have financial need. We believe that the “life skills” learned by students via participation in sports are essential to their future success. SASA scholarships allow these skills to be further developed by a college education and helps to ensure the future success of our grantees. SASA Sports Luncheons & “Spotlights” These events are presented throughout the year to build community awareness of how various sport organizations are positively impacting our community. Getting current sporting information from an organization, networking within the sport and business community, as well as sharing ideas on how to positively impact our youth through sport are just some of the results that stem from these events. Why Do We Do It? “Whether it be providing college scholarships or playing a critical role in supporting sports related initiatives, the Sarasota Area Sports Alliance (SASA) continues to be an excellent resource for our community. I am not pressured with notices of debts in any area, which in turn allows me to focus more on my school work and enjoying the college experience.
