July 21, 2015 Vol. 8, No. 20 Page 2 of 2 UPDATE: Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) The AQHI reports health risks associated with six air pollutants: • Ozone • Fine particulate matter • Nitrogen dioxide • Sulphur dioxide • Carbon monoxide • Total reduced sulphur compounds The AQHI is a tool that indicates the level of health risk associated with local air quality and advises the at-risk and general population about when to reduce or modify outdoor activity. Attached is a copy of the AQHI that can be posted in your office waiting room. When the AQHI value is ≥10: All individuals should reduce or reschedule strenuous outdoor activity.
