Specification
• Circular Bulkhead LED fitting
• Class I (must be earthed)
• Lamp type: 15 Watt LED
• IP Rating: IP54
• Supply voltage: 220/240v AC 50Hz
• Colour Temperature: 4000K
• Lumen Output: 1100lm’s
Description of Microwave Sensor
• The micro-wave sensor option offers presence
detection to provide automatic control of lighting
loads. It is installed inside the luminaire so does
not affect external aesthetics or IP Rating. Manual
adjustments on the sensor allow it to be individually
tailored to suit your application.
• Prepare the mains supply cable & fixing points on the chosen
mounting surface ensuring it is able to retain the weight of
the luminaire.
• Pass the mains supply cable through the hole & grommet
provided in the base, offer the base to the mounting surface
& secure using the screws provided.
• It is the installer’s responsibility to ensure the fixing points
& cable entry point are appropriately sealed to maintain
the IP54 rating. Silicone bathroom sealant or equivalent is
recommended.
• Route the mains supply cable to the terminal block on the
gear tray & terminate ensuring correct polarity is observed.
WARNING: THIS LUMINAIRE MUST BE EARTHED. It
is important that supply cables to luminaires fitted with an
electronic ballast do not run adjacent to leads connected to
the ballast output terminals so as not to affect radio
frequency interference suppression.
• Secure the supply cable using the clamp provided in the base.
• Refit the the gear tray & secure by retightening the screws.
Safety
• Refit the diffuser & trim by placing over the base & rotating
clockwise until it locks into position.
• This is a mains powered product. It is designed to be
installed by a qualified electrician and in accordance
with the applicable building and electrical
regulations. Before installation or maintenance the
electrical supply to the product must be isolated.
• Reconnect power supply & check for correct operation.
Luminaires fitted with electronic ballasts are exempt from
insulation resistance tests as this may cause damage to the
ballast.

For models: POL15LEDMS
• If wall mounted, the detection zone will vary depending on the surroundings but perpendicular reach will be at least
10m.
• The area closest to the sensor & also the
area more perpendicular to the sensor will
have higher sensitivity.
• The distance quoted are approximate & may
vary depending on surroundings.
• Avoid direct sunlight entering the sensor.
• Do not site within 1m of forced air heating
or ventilation.
• Do not fix to a vibrating surface.
• Avoid metallic objects directly in front of
the sensor head.
Settings
• These sensor kits are capable of switching
/ controlling more than one luminaire in a
‘master & slave’ set up. This is done by
linking non-sensored fittings (slaves) to the
one with the sensor fitted (master) using the
live output from the sensor.
NOTE! DO NOT link other fittings containing
MW sensors together in this way, as it can
cause false triggering of the sensors.
• The following adjustments can be made using the three dials located on the sensor unit. The TIME &
SENSITIVITY settings are helped via a LED setting indicator.
1. SENSITIVITY
Rotate the dial to control the diameter of the detection pattern, from 1m minimum (fully anti-clockwise) to 10m
maximum (fully clockwise). The LED setting indicator will flash to indicate the setting selected, e.g. 10 flashes =
10m diameter.
2. TIME
Rotate the dial to control the length of time the luminaire will stay on after occupancy has ceased. From 10 seconds
minimum (fully anti-clockwise) to 30 minutes maximum (fully clockwise).
The LED setting indicator will flash to indicate the setting selected as follows:
1 flash = 10 seconds, 2 flashes = 1 minute, 3 flashes = 2 minutes, 4 flashes = 5 minutes, 5 flashes = 8 minutes; 6
flashes = 10 minutes; 7 flashes = 15 minutes; 8 flashes = 20 minutes; 9 flashes = 25 minutes;
10 flashes = 30 minutes

3. LUX
Rotate the dial to control the ambient light level at which the sensor will allow the lamps to switch on. This range from 2
lux minimum (fully anti-clockwise) to only switch on when very dark, through to 2000 lux maximum (fully clockwise) to
always switch on regardless of ambient light. Note that the fully clockwise setting should be used to check functionality on
initial installation.

Fault Finding
If you are experiencing a problem please check through the following before making contact with our Customer Services
Department:
Fault - Load does not come on
• Check to see if the live supply to the circuit is good.
• If the supply & wiring are good, check the LUX setting. Increase the LUX level setting to allow the sensor to turn on at
a higher ambient light level (rotate dial clockwise).
Fault - Load does not go off
• Ensure that the area is left unoccupied for longer than the selected timer setting.
• Make sure that the sensor is not adjacent to circulating air, heaters or lamps.
• If the unit “false triggers” reduce the SENSITIVITY level to narrow the area of detection (rotate dial anti clockwise)
• Ensure luminaire is not connected in parallel with other luminaires containing MW sensors
MAINTENANCE
• Cleaning should be carried out at regular intervals so as not to impair photometric performance or thermal safety of
the luminaire.
