Honeywell 12 Clintonville Road Northford, CT 06472 http://www.honeywellpower.com • HPMOM6(CB) Power Distribution Controller PN 52385:A 1/11/06 ECN 04-350 Product Installation Document This product follows under the UL1481 Fire Alarm Systems, UL603 Burglary Alarm Systems, and UL294 Access Control Systems. The HPMOM6CB unit is to be installed in a fail safe mode unless authorized by the local AHJ. 1 Overview The HPMOM6CB uses PTC circuit breakers. The Controller will deliver power to six (6) fused outputs for switching on or off security devices such as Magnetic Locks, Door Strikes, Magnetic Fire Door Holders, Elevator Cabs, etc., The Controller has a choice of two (2) outputs, “Fail Safe” and/or “Fail Secure” and a choice of two (2) inputs, “N/O” or “N/ C” and Reverse Polarity triggered by the Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP). The Controller also has 2 (two) Trouble/ Alarm dry contact Form “C”: outputs for Power Fail/Fuse Blown and FACP alarm condition. The HPMOM6CB has not been evaluated as elevator equipment. 2 Specifications • Power Supply input option – Power supply input 12 VDC or 24 VDC. • Outputs – Six (6) Fail Safe, and/or Fail Secure, – Fuse rated @ 2.5 A per output. – Maximum fused rated output is 2.0 A. – All the output fuses with automatic yellow LED status indication. – Test push button and yellow LED indication for Fuse status . – Red LED indication for energized relay output. • Fire Alarm Control Panel input – Polarity reversing input. – Normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC) supervised input with 2K2 Ohm (EOL) resistor (provided). – Engineering Reset (Optional) normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC) input with 2.2 K Ohm (EOL) resistor. • Alarm Outputs: Fail Safe – FACP dry contacts triggered. – Green LED indication when FACP is triggered. – Dry contacts output for Control Power Failure. • Board dimensions: 5.3" L x 3.5" W x 1.0" H (13.46 cm L x 8.89 cm W x 2.54 cm H). 3 Installation Instructions 1. Mounting The power supply should be installed in accordance with all Governing Electrical National and Local Codes. Mount the power supply securely in desired location using the four(4) mounting holes. 2. Power Supply Input Connection Before connecting power, review the wiring diagram for correct installation. (See figure below.) With the AC power disconnected, connect the 120 VAC wires to the fuse block respecting the wiring code and method as follows: L=Black (HOT), N=White (Neutral), G=Green (Ground) Continued on next page... 3. Outputs Connections (see figure below) There are six(6) outputs in the following combination: Switched normally open (NO), Switched normally closed (NC). a) Switched Power outputs: Refer to figure below for typical device connection. There are 2 possible output type connections: DC STANDBY OUTPUT positive (+), and negative (-) (Fail Safe). DC power is present in normal condition and will switch OFF when the FACP is triggered. For Fail Safe operation Devices such as Magnetic Locks should be connected to this output. DC ALARM OUTPUT positive (+) and negative (-) (Fail Secure). DC power is not present in normal condition and will switch ON when the FACP is triggered. For Fail Secure operation Devices such as Door Strikes should be connected to this output. Outputs are fused at 2.5 A; maximum allowed 2.0 A per circuit. 4. Fire Alarm Interface Normally Open (NO), Normally Closed (NC) input or polarity reverser (R/POL) input from the FACP are available to trigger the Controller Switcher Board outputs. a) FACP Signaling Circuit Input: Connect the positive (+) and negative (-) from the FACP to the terminal R/POL inputs poisitive (+) and negative (-), (polarity is referenced in alarm condition) or connect the n/O or NC from the FACP output to the Fire Terminals. Connect 2.2 K Ohm resistors (EOL) provided as shown in figure below to assure Fail Safe operation. b) Normally Open (NO) Input: Connect the FACP two wires to the fire input terminal with a 2.2 K Ohm (EOL) resistor in parallel. 2.2 K Ohm EOL resistors are provided. (This input has a 600 mS delay.) Note: connect a 2.2 K Ohm EOL resistor to the reset terminal. See figure below. c) Normally Closed (NC) Input: Connect the FACP two wires to the fire input terminal with a 2.2 K Ohm (EOL) resistor in series. 2.2 K Ohm (EOL) resistor are provided. (This input has a 600 ms delay.) Note: Connect a 2.2 K Ohm EOL resistor to the Reset terminal. See figure below. 5. Fire Alarm Latch The JL jumper will select the Latch mode a) JL OFF will cause the Controller Switcher Board to latch on. (See Engineering Reset) b) JL ON will cause the Controller Switcher Board to follow the status of the FACP. 6. Engineering Reset Input This input is available if the jumper JL is removed to latch the Controller Switcher Board upon receiving an alarm condition. When the FACP resets, the Controller Switcher Board can only be reset by activating the Reset Circuit. There are two (2) circuits for the remote reset: Note: a 2.2 K Ohm EOL resistor must be connected to this input. a) Normally Open (NO) input: Connect the FACP two wires to the fire input terminal with a 2.2 K Ohm (EOL) resistor in parallel. 2.2 K Ohm EOL resistor are provided. (This input has a 600 mS delay.) 2K2 resistors are provided. b) Normally Closed (NC) input: Connect the FACP two wires to the Fire input terminal with a 2.2 K Ohm (EOL) resistor in series. 2.2 K Ohm EOL resistors are provided. (This input has a 600 mS delay.) 2K2 resistors are provided. c) A Key Switch or Push Button may be used to perform this operation. 7. Alarm/Trouble Output a) Power Fail Fuse Blown: Dry Contact Form “C”: When DC power fails or a fuse blows this will cause the relay to de-energize. b) Fire Alarm: Dry Contact Form “C”: When the FACP triggers this will cause the relay to de-energize. 8. Controller Switcher Board Cascade Connection Continued on next page... 2 HPMOM6(CB) Installation Document P/N 52385:A 1/11/06 Two (2) or more Controller Switcher Boards can be connected together as follows: Link the Alarm output from the first Controller and remove jumper JR of the first Controller. JR must be removed from second Controller if a third Controller is used and so on. See figure below. ! WARNING: To reduce risk of electric shock, do not expose unit to rain or excess moisture, and disconnect power before servicing unit. For continuous protection against hazard, replace fuses only with exact type and rating. A readily accessible switched circuit breaker must be available to disconnect main power as required. All 120V wiring should be routed so that it cannot touch 24V wiring; minimum spacing 3/8” (0.953cm). Installation and servicing should only be made by qualified personnel; contains no user-serviceable parts. Install in accordance with all local regulations and the National Electrical Code.
