R44 DELIVERED TO NORTHERN
HELICOPTER CHARTER
Congratulations to Nick Beissel from
Northern Helicopter Charter in the Northern
Territory on his recent purchase of Heliflite’s
overhauled R44 Raven I helicopter. The
helicopter was delivered by Heliflite’s pilot
who ferried the machine more than three
thousand kilometres from Bankstown Airport
all the way to the remote Northern Territory.

airframe as well as all-composite main rotor and
tail rotor blades; it is equipped with glass cockpit
avionics systems and the powerful HTS-900-2
engine by Honeywell. Other notable features of
the multi-purpose SKYe SH09 helicopter are 140
knot cruise speed, 8 seat flat floor cabin, 1500 kg
sling load and an 800 kilometre range.
Marenco Swisshelicopter describes that among
all features, the SKYe SH09 helicopter is being
developed as a true “vertical take-off platform”
that will ensure, for our clients and operators,
the highest levels of usability and multi-mission
capabilities.
Marenco Swisshelicopter already holds over 70
orders and agreements on the aircraft.
ROBINSON INTRODUCES NEW R44
& R66 AUTO-PILOT AND ASPEN
PRIMARY FLIGHT DISPLAY PACKAGE
The same Genesys Aerosystems HeliSAS
(Helicopter Stability Augmentation System) and
autopilot that was FAA approved on the R66
earlier this year is now available on Robinson’s
top selling R44.
The R44 autopilot option has all of the same
modes and functionality as the R66 including
basic stability augmentation, heading hold,
altitude hold, navigation signal tracking, and
approach guidance. A flight test and FAA
certification program ensured the comfortable
flying qualities and workload-reducing features
found on the R66 autopilot installation were
carried over to the R44.
The autopilot is now available as an option on
R44 and R66 helicopters equipped with Aspen’s
EFD 1000H Primary Flight Display (PFD).
Aspen’s PFD is a lighter, less expensive display
than Garmin’s G500H already approved on
the R66. The Aspen PFD fits in a standard R44/
R66 8-hole instrument panel with the autopilot
controls located in the avionics stack. Additional
trim and off buttons are located on the cyclic.

9TH HELICOPTER FOR PEARL COAST HELICOPTERS
Heliflite was proud to deliver a new R44
Raven I helicopter in September to Pearl Coast
Helicopters. Pearl Coast Helicopters owner and
chief pilot Grant Wellington and his son Mathew
took delivery of the new helicopter from
Heliflite’s HQ in Sydney. The Broome based
commercial helicopter company has now taken
delivery a total of 9 helicopters from Heliflite.

that are maintenance free due to no welding or
nut and bolt linkages.
The flat-proof airless wheels are made of solid
elastic rubber which is vulcanized on the wheel,
allowing a low rolling resistance. This enables the
helicopter to be easily moved by one person.
Easy Wheels are one of the lightest ground
handling wheels on the market. The wheels, only
2 inches thick, facilitate an easy in-flight storage,
because the handle(s) are in their overall length
