Specification
AVALON's clean, functional styling is available as a pendant
mount in single or twin configurations. Two sizes meet
diverse proportional requirements. The pendant mounted
cast top cap anchors stainless steel rods to support the flat
spun aluminum shade and lower lens ring. The cylindrical
clear acrylic lens extends through the shade forming an
aperture to subtly highlight the luminaire night form. External
louvers mimic the shade profile, while functioning to reduce
brightness. Optional internal louvers for symmetrical or
asymmetrical distributions provide added light control.
Lateral elements of the mounting arm are constructed
of angled steel and are supported by tubular steel rods.
Mounting arm assembly slipfits the pole. Signature stepped
pole with flush handhole is available in steel or aluminum.
Steel pole is hot-dip galvanized prior to being finished
in finely texturedpaint. Base cover is spun aluminum. All
hardware is stainless steel. Standard colors; matte silver grey
metallic or black. Special colors available.

Specification
HOUSING
Cylindrical pendant mounted luminaire consists of roof, shade, and external louvers with matching profiles. Four stainless
steel upper support rods separate the heavy-duty cast aluminum roof and spun aluminum shade, forming an aperture at
the top of the luminaire. Machined lower rods support the shade and retain three spun aluminum external louvers midway
along its length. Shade and louvers shall be free from burrs and sharp edges. Lower support rods terminate in two aluminum
lens rings, machined to include groove for gasketing and mounting surface for the cylindrical and bottom acrylic lenses. Roof
and lens rings are gasketed to provide a weather-tight seal to the clear acrylic cylindrical lens. Luminaire mounts to bracket
with threaded brass nipple and is locked in place with recessed setscrews on the bracket and luminaire roof. All hardware is
stainless steel.
OPTICS
Vertical base up lamp is positioned within the clear cylindrical acrylic lens. Three external louvers shield the lamp from normal
viewing angles and minimize brightness. Underside of spun aluminum shade and roof are painted white to increase efficiency.
Bottom lens is matte acrylic. Optional internal louvers are available for symmetric and asymmetric distributions to provide
additional brightness control.
ELECTRICAL
Electrical components are mounted in a conical spun aluminum enclosure at the base of the luminaire. Enclosure is painted
white. Consult factory for quick disconnect ballast pod option.Ceramic metal halide core and coil ballast with class "H" (180°C)
insulation system shall have a minimum high power factor rating of 90% and nominal ballast factor of 1.0. Ballast and starter
combination shall be capable of reliable starting to -20°F (-30°C) at nominal line voltage of ±10%. Ballast, capacitor, and starter
are UL and CSA recognized. Medium base porcelain socket is 660w-600v, 4kV pulse rated.

POLE
Stepped steel pole is manufactured from cold drawn over mandrel, electric-weld, mechanical round steel tubing with nominal
wall thickness of 0.142". Pole shall show no seam along shaft. Flush mounted hand hole cover is plasma cut with kerf not
to exceed 1/8" and includes triangular tamper-resistant locking device. Pole is hot-dip galvanized with coating inside and
out, then lightly sanded for bonding of paint. Base cover is one-piece 0.080" spun aluminum and finished to match the pole.
Nominal pole height is 16'.
Fabricated steel bracket assembly is available in single or twin configurations. Upper shaft of the bracket assembly is sized to
match the upper pole shaft, and is welded to the top of the slip fitter. Slip fitter insertion depth is 7.87". Slip fitter has two rows
of four 8mm stainless steel setscrews to secure bracket to the pole. Steel rod with sleeving is welded to the top of the bracket
assembly and serves as a wireway to supply power to the luminaire. Sleeving has radiussed inside edges to prevent damage to
wiring. Steel rod terminates in fabricated steel luminaire attachment point. Two horizontal angled steel bars are welded to the
attachment point and slip fitter. Bracket is hot-dip galvanized with coating inside and out, then lightly sanded prior to painting.
Bracket assembly ships pre-wired with fish tape.

FINISH
Housing is cleaned ultrasonically prior to painting. Standard finish is finely textured matte silver grey metallic or black. Special
colors available on request.
