I. SPECIFICATIONS
1.
The Contractor shall provide all necessary labor, supervision, equipment, tools materials,
supplies and incidentals as necessary to furnish, deliver and install a Marathon 8yd Vert-IPack (VIP) Trash Compactor (or approved equivalent) at the Student Center at Chesapeake
Campus, 1428 Cedar Road, Chesapeake, Virginia.
2.
The Contractor shall provide and deliver (1) Marathon 8yd VIP Trash Compactor with the
following specifications:

Emergency Stop Button
Full Container Light
3HP Self-Contained Power Pack
Installation includes:
• Custom Platform over Drainage Grate
• Includes Hand and Toe Rails
The compactor must have a left hand access to dump trash in from the loading dock.
The compactor must be anchored to the concrete away from the loading dock to not block
storm drain. A platform with hand rails will be needed to move from the loading dock to
the left hand access to the compactor.
3.
The successful Contractor must remove all job related debris at the completion of the job.
An agency representative will approve the work prior to the successful bidder invoicing the
College.
4.
The successful bidder must provide a copy of its company’s Certificate of Insurance prior to
work commencing. The certificate maybe attached to the bidder’s bid or email to Betty
Pringle at bpringle@tcc.edu.
II. SPECIAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1.
AWARD: The Commonwealth will make the award(s) on the basis of total sum to the
lowest responsive and responsible bidder. The purchasing office reserves the right to
conduct any test it may deem advisable and to make all evaluations. The Commonwealth
also reserves the right to reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, to waive informalities and
to delete items prior to making the award, whenever it is deemed in the sole opinion of the
procuring public body to be in its best interest.
2.
DELIVERY: Delivery of goods or performance of services shall be within the number of
calendar days stated below after receipt of order (ARO) by the bidder. The Agency
requires the bidder to deliver within a reasonable time after ARO. If the bidder does not
insert a stated delivery time in the blank below, the bidder will be deemed to offer delivery
in accordance with the Agency’s desired delivery time as stated below:

3.
EXTRA CHARGES NOT ALLOWED: The bid price shall be for complete installation
ready for the Commonwealth’s use, and shall include all applicable freight and installation
charges; extra charges will not be allowed.
4.
FINAL INSPECTION: At the conclusion of the work, the contractor shall demonstrate to
the authorized owner’s representative that the work is fully operational and in compliance
with contract specifications and codes. Any deficiencies shall be promptly and permanently
corrected by the contractor at the contractor’s sole expense prior to final acceptance of the
work.
5.
INSTALLATION: All items must be assembled and set in place, ready for use. All
crating and other debris must be removed from the premises.
6.
MAINTENANCE MANUALS: The contractor shall provide with each piece of
equipment and operations and maintenance manual with wiring diagrams, parts list and a
copy of all warranties.
7.
PRODUCT INFORMATION: The bidder shall clearly and specifically identify the
product being offered and enclose complete and detailed descriptive literature, catalog cuts
and specifications with the bid to enable the Commonwealth to determine if the product
offered meets the requirements of the solicitation. Failure to do so may cause the bid to be
considered nonresponsive.
8.
NEW EQUIPMENT: Unless otherwise expressly stated in this solicitation, any equipment
furnished under the contract shall be new, unused equipment.
9.
WARRANTY (COMMERCIAL): The contractor agrees that the goods or services
furnished under any award resulting from this solicitation shall be covered by the most
favorable commercial warranties the contractor gives any customer for such goods or
services and that the rights and remedies provided therein are in addition to and do not limit
hose available to the Commonwealth by any other clause of this solicitation. A copy of this
warranty should be furnished with the bid.
