1. Space Savings
Round SR-5 Micro Fuses offer equivalent product
performance to typical 5mm glass fuses, with a 60% footprint
reduction. The rectangular SS-5 family offers an additional
33% reduction to the SR-5 footprint.
2. Cost Effective
Thru-hole mounted Micro Fuses do not require the added
expense of axial leads, clips, or a holder for application to
the PC board, resulting in a cost effective alternative to
traditional electronic ferrule fuses.
3. Extensive Offering
Cooper Bussmann carries a diverse offering of Micro-Fuses
with both Fast-Acting and Time-Delay options. The offering
includes both IEC and UL design options, to satisfy the
various worldwide design requirements of today’s electronic
market.
4. High Amperage Approvals
Cooper Bussmann’s Micro Fuse Series carry the IEC and/or
UL approvals across the entire amperage range, including
the higher 5-10A products. The higher wattage requirements
of today’s end products means these higher amperage fuses
are specified more and more.
5. Packaging Options
Standard packaging options include 1000 piece Ammo-Pack
(-AP) for automated assembly lines, and a 200 piece BulkPack (-BK) for manual assembly.

Application Note:
Power supplies, power adaptors, and battery
chargers play a critical role in the operation
of virtually all consumer electronic devices.
These power supplies or battery chargers
convert high voltage AC electricity from the
wall outlet to the low voltage DC power used
to power today’s consumer electronic
products.
These include notebook
computers, printers, MP3 players, mobile

players, and set top boxes. Because these
products are plugged into the wall, they
require primary circuit protection, as the
device can be exposed to dangerous
overcurrent events.
SS-5 / SS-5F
The Cooper Bussmann SR-5 and SS-5 line
of Radial Leaded Micro Fuses provide cost
effective primary circuit protection, without
sacrificing
performance,
in
spaceconstrained power supply applications. The
IEC designs carry approvals through 6.3A,
and UL designs carry approvals through
10A.
For applications requiring fuse replacement options,
couple fuse with PCS Micro Fuse holder.
