This fixture is intended for undercabinet or undershelf
mounting.
Fixture is for use with 120V or 277V, 60Hz
electrical power supply only.
Injury to persons and damage to the fixture and/or
mounting surface may result if the fixture is pulled from
the surface. To reduce the likelihood of injury or damage,
mount only on a surface that is mechanically sound.

Cord-set and Hard-wired fixtures are intended for connection to a grounded, three-wire source of
supply.
Install the fixture in only dry, indoor applications.
Do not install outdoors or in applications other than the intended use.
Install and wire the fixture in locations in accordance with all national, state and local codes.
To avoid shock hazard, do not work with live electrical wires.

A LIGHTED XENON OR HALOGEN LAMP IS HOT! TO REDUCE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRICAL SHOCK OR INJURY TO PERSONS:
1. TURN OFF AC POWER AND ALLOW TO COOL BEFORE REPLACING LAMP.
2. DO NOT TOUCH THE HOT GLASS LENS OR THE ENCLOSURE.
3. DO NOT LOOK DIRECTLY AT A LIGHTED LAMP.
4. KEEP MATERIALS THAT MAY BURN AWAY FROM LAMP.
5. USE ONLY WITH A 12VDC, 20 WATT HALOGEN OR 12VDC, 18 WATT XENON LAMP (AS APPLICABLE) OR SMALLER.
OVERVIEW
To ensure proper installation, read through the entire Installation Instructions prior to beginning the installation.
The Alkco Little Inch Halogen/Xenon fixture is offered in several lengths and configurations. Variations in configurations
include hard-wired or cord-set connection, and On/Off rocker switch option. Before unpacking and opening the hardware
bag make sure that this fixture meets your particular need.
DIMMING CONSIDERATIONS
Alkco Little Inch Halogen/Xenon Series are low-voltage fixtures. Not all incandescent dimmers are designed to work
with these untis. Use only a reverse phase dimmer specifically designed for electronic low voltage loads. A partial list
of approved dimmers appears on page 3.
HARDWARE INCLUDED
The hardware for mounting a hard-wired fixture is supplied with your
unit. It is shipped in a separate parts bag and is illustrated in Figure 1.

One hardware bag contains:
1. (1) FMC/NM connector body
2. (1) FMC/NM connector clamp
3. (1) Ring nut
4. (2) #8-32 x 3/4" machine screws (for FMC)
5. (2) #8-32 x 3/8" machine screws (for Non-metallic sheathed wiring (NM)).
NOTE: The FMC/NM connector is intended to secure 3/8" trade-size
flexible metal conduit (FMC - 6' Max. Length) or no. 14 to 10 AWG NM.

CAUTION: if supply wires are located within three inches of transformer, use wire rated for at least 90°C (194°F).
CAUTION: risk of fire. most dwellings built before 1985 have supply wire rated at 60ºC. Consult a
qualified electrician before installing.
A. INITIAL FIXTURE MOUNTING PROCEDURE
THUMBSCREWS
Use the following procedure to mount and connect the Alkco
Little Inch fixture.
NOTE: The incoming electrical feed may be connected at the reat of the fixture or at either end.
1. Determine where the fixture(s) will be mounted.
2. Use the fixture as a template and trace the outline of the mounting keyholes on the cabinet bottom surface.
DIFFUSER
3. Drill pilot holes as shown in Figure 3, and remove
fixture. Insert a mounting screw in each pilot hole, and tighten. OPTIONAL ROCKER SWITCH
Loosen each mounting screw approximately one turn.

4 Remove the cover plate from the back of the fixture housing.
5. Install the supplied FMC/Romex strain-relief connector into the cover plate.

6. Secure the proper length of pwer supply wiring into the
strain-relief connector.
WARNING: BE CERTAIN THAT POWER IS TURNED OFF BEFORE CONNECTING FIXTURE TO SUPPLY LINES. LIVE WIRES PRESENT A POTENTIALLY FATAL SHOCK HAZARD.
7. Connect the AC feed to the three fixture pigtails (provided
with push-in connectors). Connect the green ground lead to the green pigtail, the white neutral lead to the white pigtail, and the black hot lead to the black pigtail. Make sure Figure 2
the wires are secure and that no wire strands or uninsulated conductor lengths are left exposed.
8. Install the cover plate on the back of the fixture and secure it as shown in Figure 2.
9. If mounting a single fixture, test it now.
10. Lift the fixture in place over the screws, and slide fixture so keyholes are secure under screw heads.
11. Tighten mounting screws.
NOTE: Be sure all wiring is in accordance with local, state and national electrical codes.
NOTE: Fixtures are intended to be connected to a 3-wire source of supply (hot, neutral and ground).
B. LAMP REPLACEMENT
1. Remove the diffuser.
2. Gently removed the old lamp, using a rocking motion.
NOTE: Do not touch new lamp with your bare hand. The natural oils in your hand will leave a residue on the lamp and shorten its life.
3. Use a clean rag to handle the new lamp. Insert the new lamp into the socket. Replace the diffuser and secure with clip and thumbscrew.

WARRANTY
All luminaire components, except lamps and transformers, are warranted against defects during the life of the original
installation (reference Alkco's buying guide for details).
