The REG-FI position indicator interface converts the output
current of a tap-changer into a BCD code.
One power supply unit delivers the internal voltages for the
measuring transducer and relays. A current between 0..20 mA
is connected to the measurement input.
6 relay contacts (N/O contacts) and 6 current outputs make
the BCD code available for further use.
 Up to 38 uniform current tap-change positions are
converted into a BCD code.
 The cable between the tap-changer and the REG-FI can
be up to 100m long.
 Relay contacts with 250 V 2 A AC, 220 V 150 W DC
 Large auxiliary voltage range of the power supply

REG-F I
Transfer behaviour
The BCD code signal at the output will change + 1 each time the
input current is increased by 1 current tap-change position Id.
The REG-FI is by default set to the tap-change positions
specified when ordering. The GND I connection is bridged
to measurement input Id at the circuit board. The earths of
the REG-FI and the GND I are connected via an
nterference suppression coil in the device.
The current path must be connected to ground potential on
one side of the cable.

When there is a large distance between the REG-FI and the current output Id, the maximum cable length depends more on the
interference influences of parallel cables than on the constant current resistance - see example. A common mode voltage greater
0.1 V AC is not allowed at the REG-FI input. Since each application has different earth and voltage conditions, the only general
statement that can be made is that longer lines are possible if the parallel cables are shielded and have a larger distance to
REG-FI cable.
