to offer the specification.
If you need to arrange overnight supervision, the

be completed and held in your centre records. When
a change is made to the published starting time of
an examination, it is the responsibility of the centre to
inform all candidates affected by the alteration.
Starting times of examinations
Exams Timetable Tool
The published starting time of all examinations is either
9.00 am or 1.30 pm. Each examination must be taken
on the day and at the time shown on the timetable.
Centres may change the starting time of an
examination within the scheduled morning or
afternoon session without notifying OCR but
candidates must start morning examinations no
earlier than 8.30 am and by 9.30 am and afternoon
examinations no earlier than 1.00 pm and by 2.00 pm.
Candidates with more than one examination in a
session should take these consecutively. A supervised
break may be given between examinations taken
consecutively at the discretion of the centre.
Centres may decide the order in which to conduct
examinations for candidates taking more than one
examination in a session.
Leaving the examination
Candidates must remain under supervision until 10.00
am for morning examinations and until 2.30 pm for
afternoon examinations. For examinations of less than
one hour’s duration, candidates must be supervised
until the published finishing time of the examination
or 30 minutes after the published starting time,
whichever is later.
The exams timetable tool contains dates for OCR,
AQA, Pearson and WJEC examinations. It is available
via The Exams Office website, www.theexamsoffice.org
and can be used to search, collate, export and print
timetable information. Please note that you will need
to be a member to access the information. Enquiries
about membership for this site must be directed
to The Exams Office directly and not the individual
awarding bodies.
